I get these occasionally from Michael Halpin, and thought you might appreciate this one too. He said I could share it on my blog with you.

HAPTOON: OUT OF EVERY NATION
Every four years, the best of every nation comes together to compete in the Olympics for glory and honor. To some it is the thrill of victory and others, the agony of defeat.
God is doing something so much greater in our midst. He is calling his elect out of every nation to share in the glory of his Son, Jesus Christ.
The thrill of victory: We can rejoice in the victory God has freely given us through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1Cor.15:57) Not because of anything we have done, but because of his own purpose and grace. (2Ti.1:9)
The agony of defeat: Jesus suffered the agony of the cross. He tasted death for us. (Heb.2:9) "He died for our sins..." (Ro.4:25a)
When God raised Jesus from the dead, his victory over sin and death became our victory also. "...and was raised to life for our justification." (Ro.4:25b)
He defeated (destroyed) death and brought life and immorality to light through the Gospel. (2Ti.1:10)
The victors in the Olympics receives perishable medals of gold, silver and bronze. We will receive a crown that will last forever: a crown of life. (1Cor.9:25, Rev.2:10)
The world can get all excited over the Olympics, but as for me, I will continue to be excited over the Glorious Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. -Hap
You are worthy to take the scroll and to open the seal,
because you were slain, and with your blood
you purchased man from God from every tribe
and language and people and nation.
You have made them to be a kingdom and priest
to serve our God and they will reign on the earth.
-Revelation 5:9-10
