It's National Cookie Day!! (Dec 4)

Posted in Holiday Happenins

To celebrate, we're setting up an assembly line for making the dough.  You lay everything out, make one type of dough at a time (milder flavored first & progressing to stronger) and package the dough in balls wrapped in plastic wrap.  Refrigerate until all doughs are done, THEN clean up the  bowls/measuring cups all at once.  Now your counter/table is ready to roll out the dough AND your dough is chilled enough to roll! Cheesy

We're making Sugar Cookies, Gumdrop Bars, Swirled Mint Cookies, Candy Cane Cookies, Maple Walnut Cookies, Pumpkin Cookies and maybe a couple of others. yummy

I love Christmas School!  It's Home Ec, & Math, & Kitchen Science, & Community Involvement (if you give some away) & ...

Anyone got any fav cookie recipes??

Oh yummy...cookies!!! To be honest I haven't even thought yet about what Christmas cookies I'll be making this year. Usually I get into the mood once our tree is up - next week. I like to bake them all in one or two days - depending on how many I make. My husband also loves baking, so it's truly a family effort around here. Hope you get all yours done!!

Our favorites? Scottish Shortbread, Chocolate Kiss Cookies, Crinkles, Hello Dollys (7 layer bars as some call them), Pizzelles, Peanut Butter Balls, Sugar cookies etc. etc. There are just too many to mention.

Have a great week!!
