Musings along the Way

Well, isn't God amazing?

Posted in Baby News

No matter how many times it happens, it still floors me.  When the world says one thing and God responds with another.  It's humbling.

Dh was told in 2002 that his type of cancer combined with the chemo he would receive would make him sterile.  We had to sign papers acknowledging that we understood.  Then we had Kitty in 2005.  And the Twinkies in 2006.

And now we are expecting again!  I'm due in January.  We are amazed and thrilled.  Most of the comments so far have been very positive (only one exception, and I didn't have to hear the negativity directly).  But we haven't told the "difficult-to-tell" people yet.  I'd appreciate your prayers.  I don't like the confrontations, accusations and negativity.  I don't like being talked about behind my back.  Who does, right?  I just hate that this taints our joy and excitement.

So... will YOU rejoice with us?

Peace,

Katie

My in-laws were NOT happy with our baby #4 or #5. God blessed us with 3 more children after my dh had a vasectomy. We had not prayed about it before we did it. We repented of not asking God how many children to have. We had only 2. I thank God he opened my dh back up without any surgery and let us conceive 3 more times. Praise God for his goodness.

Congratz to you guys! If anything, this is a wonderful testament to how the Lord can heal and restore our bodies to bring these little blessings into the world. I am sorry that there are those who think this is a tragedy. Someday when they have no children to support them in their old age, perhaps they will wish they had more also! I always think too that those that "choose not" to have children (or that many of them) are many times doing us a favor in that we will populate the world with more God-fearing people and they will die off with their crazy and non-godly beliefs. Anyway, just a thought! Congratz! Here's to a great pregnancy and a wonderful new blessing in your lives.

As the mom of an only, I'm probably the last person you'd expect to have a positive comment from. Even tho, we only have one and that's the way I wanted it and the way we planned it (and no we didn't ask God if that's what he wanted - however, God being God he could have overruled our decision, but 12 years later still hasn't...but I digress)

Anyway - even tho I personally can't imagine having a large family, I am not in anyway opposed to others having them. Our pastor is the father of 12 children, (would have been 13 but they miscarried last Oct.) and they are 12 of the most wonderful kids we have ever known...ranging in ages from 4 to 25! So I say don't even give a second thought to the negative things people can say - Children are a blessing and God has chosen to bless you abundantly!

Enjoy your blessings,
Melissa
