This weekend, dh took Bug (15yob) & Bear (6yob) camping.  I'm sure they are having a WONDERFUL time!  I hate camping.

My children know this.  I amuse them.

Imagine their astonishment and delight when I announced that TONIGHT we are having a BACKYARD CAMPOUT!!  *gasp*

Yeah, I got Cool Mom Points. :o)

We were going to have a fire and make s'mores, but the guys took the stuff.  Good thing I baked Toll House Cookies today!

Everyone is scrambling now to find blanket & sleeping bags (we keep a tent up all summer in the backyard).  The plan is to clean up the house a bit, get comfy in the tent and have Mom read aloud & tell stories until dark. 

Cherish the days, Moms & Dads.  They are not going to stay little forever - the days are long but the years are short as they say.  The day to day grind of raising these presious little ones for God takes its toll on our relationships.  Make a memory today!

I'd give you cool Mom points too! I'm with you on not liking camping either! I've thought about doing that this summer, but our plans have been a little derailed the last three weeks. It's not too late though!

Great advice! We had a campout over the 4th of July in the backyard. I am noooo camper but it was fun with my own kitchen and bathroom just a few feet away!
