Welcome Baby Titus!

Posted in Friendship

I have to just take a moment to wow you all with the story of my dear pal, Allison, who just had her first baby.  Our Ohio buds were thinking they still had a whole TWO weeks until they're due date.  Who goes 2 weeks early on their first baby???  Well, after laboring at home, while the snow-storm had the base shut down this girl finally headed into the hospital and was already 9 cm when the poor overrun nurses got to check her.   Titus made his grand entrance weighing NINE POUNDS FOURTEEN ounces! and 22 inches long.  Did I already mention this is two weeks early??

I'm really proud of them...go check out their site and see this handsome little guy!!

They are wonderful parents and will do a fabulous job!

Thank you for your gentle words on my post about fear. It was really interesting for me to write all this down and look at it from a distance. You are right, fear is not from God and it angers me to know that Satan wants me to be fearful. I feel like I've failed God, somehow, but I know He's there for me and will build me up. Thank you so much for your prayers. I believe I should bring my Bible to bed with me on those lonely nights and read before I go sleep (not something I normally do.) Maybe it's time to change my p.m. habits! It's good to hear from others who have experienced being alone at night. Never bothered me prior to being married. I guess I've gotten used to my dh being there! Thanks again, friend!

Kate

P.S. That's amazing about your friend - glad the little one waited until she got to the hosp. Hope all goes well for this new family. Thanks for sharing.

That is pretty unusual! I did not go early for ANY of my babies. In fact, one we had to coax along with castor oil. (Shudder!!)

Congratulations to your friends!

Warmly,
Kate
PS: The picture you use for your avatar is so lovely and friendly looking. I bet we would be good friends immediately. :+)

Funny, while she was in labor and I didn't know, I felt compelled to send her a message on her site giving her a little encouragement about delivering naturally. I was telling her that "No you won't get an award, but you will be REWARDED when you feel good as new, energized and will most likely have a better birth experience." I had to retract my statement after learning of Titus' SIZE and told her that she does, indeed, deserve an award! I'm so excited for them!

Thanks for the encouraging post! I'm still baffled by the whole thing. I can't believe I'm a mom! When people hear about the birth some silly people make comments like "oh, you must have had an easy labor." I smile sweetly and try not to say anything, but inside I'm thinking, "there was NOTHING EASY about what I just did! I felt (and still feel) every inch and ounce of that baby!!" Oh well. They're probably the same people who ask, "so, when's that BAAABY due?" to someone who's not expecting. :)

I just picked up my sewing today for the first time since labor. I will always think of those bumper pads with a smile recalling how I sat there denying all the signs of labor 'cause my nursery wasn't done yet. Ha! It's still not done! :)

I can't wait to see you in a week and a half!

Your crosstich in your previous post was AMAZING. I'm impressed.

And 2 weeks early on your first baby? Pretty rare. And arriving that late and being a 9? Her second birth will seem like a snore to all that excitement.
