Painting the Memories of Home

My own weekend away!

Posted in Daily moments

CLICK HERE if you wanna see a picture of me and the cute guy I hung out with this weekend!  I had the privilege and pleasure of flying back to Ohio and seeing the beloved faces of friends we've left behind.  The cute guy...of course, was the precious little three week old I couldn't in good conscience fly out of the states next month without seeing.

All I can say is that seeing FRIENDS who recognize me and know me after being an unknown entity here where we are was a BALM TO THE SOUL. (My on-line friends all know that I've leaned heavily on them these months of living between duty stations!)  I connected with people who have no kids, people who have ten kids, MOPS moms, a buddy on bedrest, homeschool friends, and the newly initiated parents I stayed with.  Boy did that bring back memories...I'll be in for a real shocker again when it's my turn to be up three times in one night for feeding a newborn.  I remember how eternal it seemed at the time, but passed quickly and was gone forever.

I felt the change of pace from East Coast to Mid-West the minute I stepped off the plane.  Folks aren't rushed out there.  Even in the airport people were mellow and pleasant.

Well, I have to give credit to my dear J, who not only made it all possible but urged me to go, and kept the five kiddos fed and cared for on the homefront so I could have the chance to do that.   It was such a generous gift.  My own superman.  He actually is a little Clark Kentish, come to think of it...

Oh, how wonderful! I'm so glad you got a chance to go! You look so happy holding Titus! and again absolutely beautiful! I can't wait for the pictures of you and your own new baby! :)
So have you shared where you're going next: Hawaii? Guam? And will you get to have the baby before the big move?

Is that a perfect looking family or what?! And I love the name Titus. It's very strong and masculine.

Not to long and you'll have one of those for yourself again.

And Clark Kent is right! yeah for your hubby for noticing that you needed a friend break.

What a wonderful thing your husband did for you! And willingly! Superman is right. Thanks for the reminder that I need to appreciate my "superman" more than I do. God bless!

Mar. 16, 2007 - Clark Kent, huh?

The old Clark or the new Clark? :) I don't know though, Clark is dorky and awkward. J might be quirky, but I wouldn't think of him as awkward. He's a good Superman, but maybe he just has a different alter-ego. ;)

Yes, Titus is looking right at you! I've read research that found that babies have a preference for beautiful faces (I think they base "beauty" on facial symmetry). So, you must be one pretty lady!

Can't wait for Easter weekend...Titus has grown so much even since you left!

Oh thats so GREAT . What a lovely weekend it seems that you had. And what a cutie-pie you got to spend time with!!

I just noticed, because I tend to be dip-like sometimes, that you are expecting!!!!! How beautiful! and even though this is late coming, CONGRATULATIONS!

And I can't wait to move from the east coast, and start to mellow out also. I am so tired of running this rat race. I think you know of what I speak. lol. I hear about the land out there, were people enjoy their time. I have no concept, but I can't wait!!

Have a good St. Paddy' s Day, and a great weekend! ~madeleine
