Dear Learning Parents,
I'll bet you love the book of Proverbs as much as Marilyn and I do. You have good reason, because it's the ultimate guide to parenting!
Think about it: First of all, it's Scripture--inspired and preserved by our heavenly Father Himself. And Solomon, the human instrument He used to write it, was the wisest man who ever lived. What's more, he was the beneficiary of a special father-son relationship with God (see II Chronicles 28:6). And for whom did this genius write the Proverbs? It's obvious--five chapters and several sections begin with the words, "My son."
If you want to know how the wisest man in the world, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, would design a life curriculum for his children, it's all here in thirty-one simple, interesting chapters. We've tried to drill it into our children in every way we could contrive.
So in this issue of The Learning Parent Newsletter we have a little treat for you (drum roll, please). Many years ago, Marilyn and I did a study of Proverbs and listed fifty things God wants us to teach our children from that great book.
Here's the list with the references so you can use them in your home. It would be a great list of memory verses or--oh, you can come up with lots of great ideas on your own. We hope you find the list a blessing.
