Molding a Well-Trained-Mind-to-be

I'm ALIVE, I promise!

The school year is officially over, although we all know the learning never stops.

B has been having fun with the refrigerator magnets.  He leaves me messages every day.  Today's message "mom is beautiful".  AWWW!

Yesterday's message was "mom is a beautiful" - but he thought it said "mom is a BUTTERFLY"!  ha ha  Too cute.......

Too much stress in my life right now to sit down and plan for 1st grade.  I have a few thoughts....of course we will use Math-U-See, as I already have the first year on DVD.  And we have quite a ways to go in Story of the World.  But everything else is up in the air.

I am soooo leaning towards an unschooling approach next year.  Classical is wonderful for ME, but not for him.  And my life just isn't one where I can make a schedule and expect it to fly every day.  Something always comes up (or someone always sleeps in too late...... ).

I finished two college classes this summer.  Was supposed to take another one, but again, too much stress right now.  I'm signed up for full time in the fall, and I'm not even sure I can manage that.  I'm really disappointed in myself.  But I'm not going to pretend I can handle things that I know I can't.

Yay, new posts! I keep checking and checking ... Blogs are so addictive to read. ;-)

You've got to work with what works, you know. And if unschooling works best for your family's learning, then you go with it. I think there's a way to classical unschool ... or something like it ... but then I guess that's not the purest form of unschooling. LOL Still, I read somewhere (the message boards?) that it can be done ....

Girl, you've done so much with homeschooling and schooling yourself. My gosh! A full load of college work is enough for a regular no-kid person. I'm totally impressed that you go the schooling done. Don't even be disappointed in yourself! I'm throwing you some confetti in congratulations for a semester completed: ~~~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ (confetti)

I love my family so much! Read about my daily joys and sacrifices, as I try to be the best stay-at-home/homeschooling-mom I can be! My son B is 6 years old and currently in first grade. My husband works hard to let me stay home! I also juggle college on top of homeschooling.
