May. 17, 2006~ Almost lost Rosey ~
This morning I heard our chicken. Yes, I said chicken , we only have one chicken. She adopted us by showing up in our front lawn one day. She is such a funny pet. She allows the boys to pick her up and put her on their sholder and walk around. This morning I heard her clucking really loud really early in the morning. I looked out to see what was the matter and I saw a cyotte running threw our yard. So I thought that was the end of Rosey the chicken. I shed a few tears and then when everybody got up I was telling what I thought happened. My youngest son Nicolas told me she wasn't dead she is in the yard. I said I was sorry but I really think she was gone. He insisted and said to go look out on the frount porch, so I did. There she was happy as could be , thank goodness. Charlotte Mason talks about having something to love well God brought a chicken, a rabbit, and cat all threw adoption. God new the only way these kids would get to have animals was by having them show up on our door step. My husband resisted in getting animals. There was todays event.I have been wanting to use this smiley for awhile.
That is just a great story. Thank You for sharing it. I'm glad she survived :) I once read a story about a chicken who befriended a cow and they went every where togther. I wish I had saved the story so I could read it to my kids. It was in a magazine.
Thank You for visiting my blog.
Blessings,
Linda<><
It is funny you sharred about animals being friends . I wish you could see our cat and chicken around each other. They hang out near each other and the chicken will eat our cats food and drink his water. They get along which I guess isn't the usual for these animals. Now on the other hand if we let out our rabbit, she will chase our chicken . It will be intresting when we move up to my mother in laws. She has a dog that is half bull dog and half golden retriever. She is a puppy in alot of ways still. Very hyper but sweet. The grand old farm life. Have you read to your kids stories by James Harriot the author who wrote " All Creatures Great and Small" ? They are wonderful.
