Our children are about the same ages. I like your plans. I almost bought Quine's world views but after researching it quite extensively learned that the manual is full of questions without answers or guidance towards answers. Have you heard about this? What do you think?
Boy, I am on a roll today in the commenting department. I saw the word "curling" on your list. That brings back memories of curling while in Canada. Such a unique sport.
I received my first kiss at a curling rink. I was 15 years old and an old prospecter, obviously drunk, grabbed me firmly by the shoulders and planted a big sloppy kiss on my cheek. I was mortified! It is still a family joke to this day.
I didn't realise this and now I am not sure what to do. I know that David Quine is a well respected home school author. But what else is out their for World View ?

lindafay that was a good chuckle for today about your first kiss. Now I have to ask where are you from origianally ? Canadian? American? Other- What? Yes curling is neat. I have come to know it threw my boys playing it last year. It was so cool watching it in the Winter Olympics this year. I only watched the last game where the Canadians won . ( wa hoo)It came on just before school on a Friday so that was homeschool that moring. ( hee hee ) I think my oldest has the Olympic sparkle in his eye after that.

Man! I only WISH curling could be on our phys.ed schedule!!! LOL Having grown up Canadian, of course my idea of good sports include hockey, CFL football, and curling. But curling rinks are pretty hard to come by in the mid-Atlantic US. Hmmm... My DH found out that there is one closer to Baltimore/Washington so we are going to check it out for a date night sometime.
HI;
Wow those lists are great! Can you write down what a day looks like in time for me? What time of day do they do each subject and are they everyday or varying days? Your 6yr old's list reminded me that I have some Before the code books around here somewhere and I waaaaaant some Apologia science things. I just can't seem to fit everything in though, but I suppose breaking things up into semesters may be ok? hmm. then there's the cost... arrgh.
Re: Lit Lessons. The price right now is $99 for the set of 2, which is the "homeschool bundle special". Retail is $155.00. Shipping to Canada if I remember is approx. $27 on the slow boat. It is an excellent unit study! I like the one you are doing for fall too about Narnia, that one is good too. Save up for it and just let me know!
Re: Bartering. I was in an online barter/trading group once and it was tons of fun. Lots of ppl making things, if you would like the link, let me know. You can get all your Christmas shopping done if you trade for it! :) Here's how it works: I have product + shipping costs = $40.50 for you. (8lb. 4oz Airmail to Ca) I pay to ship this box to you, and you pay to ship your product to me so your product + your shipping cost (or good estimate) must equal $40.50. If that is ok with each of us then we produce our items and ship! Ok with you? I'll need an idea on what you have to trade, have any pics of bracelets, etc?
