Jun. 5, 2006~ God's Mirror ~
Oh how I want to be "God's Mirror" . Today as my family was going into town.
(we live 20-30min. out of Nelson) and we were talking about the reflection on the lake. I was showing the two little ones that the lake is like a mirror and it reflects the trees and clouds . I was pointing out how beautiful the edge of the lake was. And how you can take a mirror and put it on a picture and it has the mirror effect. ( bargello effect) Out of the mouth of babes my baby (not so much a baby now) said " It's like God's Mirror" and I replied it is only one of Gods Mirrors. Then as we drove in the rest of the way I really started to think about that phrase " God's Mirror" and how much I want to be that in my life. What a neat allegory for our Christian life. I don't think I will ever look at the Kootenay Lake the same way ever again. I pray that I will reflect the love of my Creator and the Savior in my life.
In Him,
PS : I was looking at the picture on my blogg at the top and that is exactly the concept I was trying to describe,

That's beautiful! I'm going to try to remember that!
I have been doing the DEL for 2 years. I only put my highschoolers on it - just so they can get their Dogwood. I would definetly NOT put my younger ones on it. I don't really like it: marching to someone else's schedule, using textbooks that I think are lousy, having assignments assigned by others......yuck. But, my highschoolers take care of all the "business" themselves - like their weekly logins and communicating with their "teachers". And I guess there is some benefit to learning how to jump through others' hoops, too. Also, having to work a little differently for someone else. I would, in a way, like to take my son off it and have him write the GED when he's 19, but he is just chomping at the bit to get going with adult life. He wants to begin the new apprenticeship program that has begun for students in gr.12 next year. So for somebody like him, I guess the DEL is the way to go.
I just got goosebumps when I read this post and looked at your blog picture. It's like God knew this was going to be a life lesson of significance for you and your family. Amazing...
