Jun. 10, 2006~ My little hugger (0: ~
My little hugger is my 4ds6 and I woud have never dreamed he would hug me and tell me he loves me as much as he does. About a couple of years ago I almost had to trick or bribe him to hug me. He couldn't be bothered to hug and really didn't want anyone to touch him. But when he would hug me I started to make a funny noise as he hugged me and he liked it. So he would come back later for another hug and I would do it again. As time went by he would give me more and more hugs. Then after awhile I didn't have to make the noise any more. NOW , he is constantly coming to me for hugs. I know we are to teach our kids many things but to hug was a very nice thing to teach. Maybe my future daughter in law will thank me one day. In Him,-Canadagirl
.....I also will take all the hugs I can get from my dd's. My youngest is very generous still with her hugs, but my oldest is now going through that stage where I am so not allowed to hug, kiss or touch her. She is 13 almost 14 years old. Especially in front of her friends. But that does not mean I cannot have fun with it :>) (smirky grin here).
I still occasionally get a frequent cuddle providing nobody is here.
We had to teach our second son how to hug. What kid doesn't understand the mechanics of a hug? Well, that was him. Proud to say that he has improved greatly and gives hugs all the time...as well as kisses my hand and wrist. :-) He's a sweetie... a long way from "okay, arms around my neck. now squeeze. harder."
intuition or something going on with you and me. I notice that everytime I decide to check my blof and log on, you do as well. Or maybe it is a Canadian thing.
Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog... I am adding you to my friends so I can keep in touch. I've had fun looking around your blog. What a sweet mom you are - taking the time to raise your boys carefully. I see that you like Charlotte Mason - I began to learn about her from lindafay's blog and love it. We are just beginning homeschooling and will be setting out the Charlotte Mason way.
I'll check back with you soon,
Stacy
Cherish those hugs and take them whenever they are offered even when you are busy. I had to sing a song about hugs when I tucked Marissa in to get four hugs a day. (You sing 'hug' four times and I got one hug for each word!) Then ~ All too soon they are teenagers who refuse your hugs! :o(
AWWWW...........That is soo cutsie.
Thanks for all the comments!
We think about our blog friends all the time too. After we have read something then we do it, we always are thinking about the people God has brought into our lives.
The reason I didn't get to come back and leave a comment was because we have specific blog days. Mine are Wed. & Sat. So that is when I comment and post.
Thanks for the compliments. Keep up the good work!
Take Care!
My oldest ds was not much of a hugger. Everytime he goes to his Grandna's house to spent the night, I make him give me a hug. If it is not tight enough, I tell him he needs to do it again. Now I don't have to tell him to hug me. Not only does he do it if he is going to Grandna's house, but just out of the blue. Thanks so much for what your said on my blog. It helps so much to have that ecouragment from one another. I would love to add you as a friend also.
Have a great night!
Hope
I am a hugger myself and love hugs and cuddles from my kids. It sounds like you came up with a fun game for your little one. I try to take in as many as I can get. I have already told my kids they are never to stop giving hugs. L
My youngest daughter was not a hugger either. I used to keep M&M's on top of the refrigerator and whenever we were both in the kitchen I would scoop her up and give her a hug and then an M&M. Pretty soon she was tugging me over to the fridge for a "hugger".
How precious. I'm glad he let God soften his heart. My sister was like that a few yrs. ago but I think she is fine now. I have always been one to go and give someone a hug and expect one back. I even got a hospitality award in K-school.
Thank you for commenting on my blog. You are welcome to comment 20x if you wish!!!
