Jun. 28, 2006~ WHERE ARE YOU FROM ? ~
I am from salt water sandles, from Bisquick, Dare Maple Leaf creame cookies, and Red river hot cereal.
I am from Sunset Magazine Homes, sarcastic humor, fires in the fireplace in the winter, and a big lovealbe purring cat.
I am from Forget-me-nots, Rhododendrons , a wooden bridge to the front door, Chinese Red Maples, Hazelnut Tree, Coastal Mountain Range.
I am from Blueberry Pancakes, long necks and faces, from Tell's and Phillip's and Butler's.
I am from quiet dinners and " If you can't say it in 5 minutes it's not worth saying" ( on the phone).
From " I can't hear the rocks rattle in your head" ( meaning I can't read your mind) and " If wishes came true then Beggar's would ride....."
I am from Accepella worship and baptised for the forgiveness of your sins from our Lord Jesus Christ.
I'm from the New England States and William Tell decent, Blueberry Grunt (steamed blueberry dumplings) and Grinders ( submarien sandwhiches) on Sunday.
From a little girl ( me) who wouldn't listen and stay on the side of the pool in swimming lessons when told. To floating to far in the deep end with her hair floating strait out and the one from a little brother who was always asked if he would like a little pumpking pie with his whipped cream.
I am from a place where " We don't tan we rust.", Daddy's wood carvings and a place that gets very little snow if any and when the grey clouds come in you knew they would stay between 2 days to 2 weeks.
This poem reflects my childhood and I still want to do one of these poems to reflect where I am now. So to come in the near future for another ...." Where are you from". In Him,-Canadagirl
I loved your poem :) It is fun seeing where people come from and what they cherished in their lives! The UN thing is frightening for sure. We ned to stay in prayer for those delaing with "rules" like that and for those of us that are not as well.
I enjoyed reading this!!!! also, thanks for the book and website suggestions. I am going to see if my library has them tonight. I always like it when you stop by!!!! Bless you!
Oh Canada! My home and native land!
I loved those maple creme cookes too, and Red River Cereal!
You can get it here, but it's somehow just not quite the same!
