"If mothers could learn to do for themselves what they do for their children when these are overdone, we should have happier households. Let the mother go out to play!
If she would have the courage to let everything go when life becomes too tense, and just take a day, or half a day, out in the fields, or with a favourite book, or in
a picture gallery looking long and well at just two or three pictures, or in bed, without the children, life would go on far more happily for both children and parents.
The mother would then be able to hold herself in "wise passiveness’ and would not fret her children by continual interference even of hand or eye - she would let them
be." ...Charlotte Mason
Oooohhhh, Melissa's contest is great. I was the first winner yesterday, she sent me the komodo dragon ebook and it's great!! It's written like a story, but it's packed full of information and amazing pictures. Definitely enter that one!!
Thanks for your answer to my hs question. I realize I was being kind of nosy, but I like to find out what other people in my province are doing. We are not with a Christian DL, but that's not to say we don't use copious amounts of Christian material. They just don't pay for it and we don't send any of it in with our portfolio. We do our portfolio specifically geared to learning outcomes and don't worry about learning outcomes other than that. What I do is pick something from every category and it looks like we're covering it all. I suppose we could get into trouble for doing it that way, since we are supposed to follow the learning outcomes entirely, but what they don't know....
I always enjoy your posts and comments
Have a great day
Kathleen
Very nice entry....
Just what I wanted.... I love that we can all read about the different - and the same - ways we homeschool!!
Now I am going to go read the other post!! ( ;

Hi Canadagirl! Thanks for the nice comments on my blog! I didn't buy a program to make the changes. I found some free graphics that I downloaded to my hard drive. I then put them on a hosting site (Photobucket). Then I took one of the pre-made templates on "HomeschoolBlogger" and replaced some of the "codes" with the new ones! It took a lot of trial and error, but it finally worked. I don't know anything about HTML, so it took a long time to get everything right! I would copy and paste, then preview it. If it looked right, then Praise God, if ti didn't, then I tried it somewhere else.
hey there. well, my avatar is different but at least you're getting it straight from the horse's mouth. hee hee hee. i crack myself up.
today has finally been a down time day around here. whew, it's been a busy week.
