~ What was your first idea that you wanted to HS? ~

A very SSiC asked a very GOOD question that us Titus2 HS Mamma's need's to answer.  Could you please GO and visit  Jocelyndixon   And share your answers with her.  I really think we need to pass on the TORCH to our younger Sweet Sister's in Christ. Pass on the "Vision" of Godly Education and "Why "  we have chosen what we have chosen.  God Bless.

PS:  Could you also go over to Jacque's Blog and help her decide on a contest of "Best-Laid Plans" This is a must read of all these Awesome School Year Plans from soooooo many HSblogger's.

What was your first idea that you wanted to HS?

Very early in my marraige I went to a church who had 3 families that HS.  I was soooo intreged with the idea of HS.  I was sooooo drawn to this!  I kept asking the Mother's of these families what was homeschooling all about. How do you do it ? How do you get started ? I ALSO went to the kids of the families and asked them if they liked to be Homeschooled !  I had to get my brain all wrapped around things before  I really jumped in.  So when my 1ds was 3yo  I thought I better get REAL serious about understanding this.  There was a HS support group and I thought I better visit it and I heard they were open to moms with kids any age.  I went to their Wrap-Up Night for the year.  It was a Show and Tell Night.  I got to hear what ALL these women did that year I got to hear what they DID like and what they Didn't like in what they did that year.  By the end of that night I WAS TOTALLY CONVINCED that Homeschooling  was the way we were going to go.  So just like other very important things in my married life, that were big decisons,...came from God's leadings.  That is how God lead me into my Homeschool Journey. ( it is now 10 years)  I am for sure going to educate my kiddo's to the end. I will have my first HS graduate in 5 years !  That really isn't that far away !!!  Time is going soooo fast!

What started out as a comment became a post, LOL. God Bless you all in the Journey Less Traveled.

In Him,

I posted on Jocelyn's questions too, and saw that you posted yours, so I came to take a peak. I was very encouraged at what God has done in my life to bring me where I am today. Come take a look!

Now I'm gonna go see what HeartnSoul wrote!

By the way, maybe you should post about any "dreams" you gave up to do what you are doing...(art school, maybe?!)

I'm glad that you found that helpful!! I was really wrestling with how I was going to help K get past his not wanting to write and for the Lord to give me strength to be able to work with K through his frustrations as we searched for a solution and he delivered. We have finally come to an arrangement that we both can work with : )

Are you in the process of purchasing some land that you are hoping to move onto this winter? or have you had it for a while and are slowly making the transition?

It is awesome to glimpse God's hand in your decision to homeschool and to see your obedience and desire. My story is different. I "knew" I should bring Marissa home and fought and fought. I kept saying "after working one more year and paying this off..."

Which is exactly why I am a little softer on Marissa when she doesn't obey without challenge, without excuse and without delay. Whenever she does this, I remind myself that she has learned this from me! :o(

and I wanted to share with everyone and figured, why not have a contest? So here I am tellling you about my Mad Libs contest I'm holding until Friday. I figured you'd be the perfect person to tell about it, so here's the link http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/mamma1420/187435/ or you can just Click Here to See the Mad Libs Contest details

Mad Libs is perfect for making Grammar fun! I really loved reading about your experience, what a blessing to be introduced to homeschooling by homeschoolers who are successful at it! You had a support group right there, if that isn't a sign from God along with the tugging at your heart I don't know what is!

I am back from my travels for awhile. Had a good trip.
I started thinking about homeschooling as soon as I had children. I had several good friends who were and I watched them. I liked what I saw and as I watched and began to read I have become more and more convinced that was the path for my family. I convinced my dh without too much work and we aren't looking right or left since then.
