Oct. 4, 2006~ 90 % of the Roof is on ! ~
90 % of the roof is done ! It went real well and the food was ALL eaten up too. We had so many friends show up that they all couldn' t fit on the roof, lol. It was a very productive day. The roof would have been done if we didn't run out of shingles !!! Well yesterday I went to town and my ds's helped me load 5 bundles of shingles into the car. So in the next short bit the roof will be finished. Yeah !
I now realise I don't want to be a caterier. It took a long time to make that much food for sooooo many HUNGRY guys and families, that I was pooped. I have to post one more receipe that was also a success. Buttermilk Coffee Cake. Yes I splurged and had a coffee with it, lol.
Here is just a few of the HUNGERY Men.
The nice thing was one of the wives of the men helped me wash the dishes after. It was a Full and Fun day with all that wonderful community of Brothers and Sisters of the Lord.
God Bless,
In Him,
-Canadagirl
Looking good!
I am sure all those hungry men where just SO happy to guzzle up all that delicious food! You out did yourself! Next time you might get double the amount of people wanting to help if word gets around about the feast they will be rewarded with afterwards!!

Reminds me of an old fashioned house raising that you read about in those wonderful books about the Old West and sounds like lots of fun. I love coffee cake, so I will be looking forward to your posting the recipe.
That is such GREAT TERRIFIC news!! I am happy for you!!
Green Enchiladas are not green they are called that because of the green chilies used in them!! LOL!! Just have to laugh at that!!
I don't think I will be listening to ANY classical music!! I DO NOT like it!!
Sorry we can't talk alot!! I have been doubling up on school and I don't even blog on my days all the time!! And as you can see from my Week post, we are extremely busy with life!!
Hope you are having a GREAT week!!
Thanks for coming to The Daily Planet, and leaving me a comment!
It is always nice to have people come to your blog! But it is even better when they leave you a comment saying they have been there!
Come check out the changes that have happened to your favorite blogpaper!
How wonderful to have so many friends who are willing to help....actually, it's downright upliting to hear about the gathering. And the roof...well, it's beautiful!! Hmmm, the coffee cake sounds yummy...that's my weakness, sweets!
I just wanted to comment as I saw in your profile that we live in the same province-I'm just further south. I hope you don't mind if I add you to my friends list. I love Charlotte Mason too. The Little Bear Adventure camp is something I'd like to do as well, maybe when my kids are older and all able to enjoy it. I'd like to hear about it when you return. You are welcome to drop by my blog, although I'm just getting started.
Blessings,
Sandpiper
Looks like your house is coming along. Building a house is a big job not to mention frustrating. Are you guys doing it on your own? My husband is a contractor so he has built a lot of houses.
I love cateriering. I like all the work. Having a reason to work and cook. Of course, (1) i grew up in a restaurant so it's not overly overwhelming to me and (2) I like business of it. I lke the feel of going to bed tried.
I will have to try your soup recipey as well.
We made it to the 'Family Camp" in Washington. It was fun. There was a family from B.C. there as well. You guys must be getting ready to head to your camp as well. How exciting!!
Many Blessings.
I hope you do visit again. If you leave your settings on so I can comment I would come and encourage you in your journey of HS. It is sooooo neat that you are close by and if you ever want to meet let me know. God Bless .
In Him,
oh you naughty girl. i know you enjoyed it though. wish I was there to have a cup with you. Your roof looks great. Can you tell us about the floor plan?
Yes, I lost two little ones to miscarriages in 2003 and 2002. I feel the gap, but also know that God knows what He is doing. I often wonder who they are and what they are doing now. I couldn't even name them, as it was too early to know gender. As for the remodeling, it is moving along again after a two week lull. They've put insulation in the floor, and put one layer of the floor back down. One of the sheds is now full of the supplies they need to do it. I'm encouraged about it again. Have a good day. Carol
are you planning on coming to the Little Wheeler Adventure Camp only, or coming on over to see us? I am not sure I've ever heard a definite decision. If you are planning on coming down here, could you give me the specifics of when you will be here and so forth?
How's it going!? Well, it looks great! I'm glad to see you are finally getting your house built! All in HIs time though! LOL I hope to hear from you soon! Happy Fall! Nai haryuvalyλ melwa rλ (May you have a lovely day)
Wow your house is coming along nicely. Its going to be beautiful. I always enjoy cooking for the men when they are out working hard. And its always so appreciated.
You must be so excited to watch a dream come true! How beautiful. I am very happy for you. Just be Jesus to that grumpy neighbor and stand back and see the hand of the Lord...
