Oct. 7, 2006~ Change of gears in HS ~
I had questioned last year of what I picked for curriculum wasn't going to be challanging enough for my 1ds and now I am seeing it to be true. I have been thourghly enjoying and connecting with HOWTA. I wish I did check into this 6 years ago when a friend showed me it . I miss understood and thought it was only a 1 year bible course. I didn't realise that it was a 4 year program based on the Bible and a chronilogical study of history that repeats itself every four years. God has been prompting me to let go of my original plans and dive into His word. I have been following His leading but at the same time questioning if I was just giving up too quickly. I didn't want to abandon everything and thinking I was just being too flighty... again! But after reading what my SSiC said and it just confirmed the leadings I was feeling ARE the direction I am to follow. I have ordered Adam to Messiah ebook. I am getting real excited about learning about God and history from a different prespective. It encorperates Charlotte Mason with other teaching tools in a real neat way of learning. I hope to really be encorperating all this in our journey of learning when we get back from Little Bear Wheeler's Adventure Camp.
Here are some pics of a small ferry that is in less of a 4 minute drive from our home. We went across the lake to go get honey from a local bee keeper for our winters supply of honey.
Will you post more on Adam to Messiah when you have a chance. I have been looking at that for years, but have been afraid of the commitment and wondering if it would be overwhelming. I was even thinking about getting it for me at one time.
Love the pictures of your family. My boys especially Ethan love chasing those crickets.
Blessings,
Linda<><
Wow great pictures of your house and the boys look like they were having a great time on the ferry ride!! I like your little Thanksgiving countdown you have going on at the top of your blog. I can't wait to have fresh turkey. MMMmmm. DH won't be able to make it though : ( He got called for work since the weather is clearing up again and will be on his way at 9am. But my sister and her husband and my mom and dad are going to be here Monday for dinner so we are still going to have a big meal. I'm going to try a new spinach and cashew dressing this year in the bird. I'll post the recipe if it turns out okay : )
Blessings,

At first I thought you might be in the Laurentians in Quebec, but now I'm thinking you must be in the foothills. I'm on the prairies
What a varied landscape our country has. Your house looks wonderful and I'm so happy for you that you had a large crew of roof helpers... Nothing like trying to do it all yourself... it's exhausting.
I've got 4 boys and a girl. Life is a constant adventure.
I have a most awesome bug catcher here at my home too. He considers himself an expert. Although he learned very fast yesterday that Mama, under any circumstance, size, shape, or state of "aliveness", does NOT want to see a spider. ::shudder:: LOL
My mother's husband is a bee keeper so thankfully I don't have far to travel for my honey
Oh, I miss taking those ferries! I just came by to wish you a very, very happy Thanksgiving! I just posted about some of my memories of Thanksgiving on the prairies of Alberta.
Bless you!
