Dec. 6, 2006~ Slowly getting there ( packing up the house ) ~
I am slowly getting things packed. I have started with my school books and supplies that I am not using at present time. I have been collecting for just over 10 yrs now. ((whew)) that means alot of books , lol. I am sad to say my cheery disposition hasn't been very good. Last night I woke in a panic attack about getting everything done for Christmas ( making slippers , candles, and fudge. My hubby is making jams and jellies ). Packing and then trying to think of a way to afford presents. God must have known I needed a little help in my problem solving. B/c a friend called today to ask me when we where moving and if he and his wife could help us with their truck. One thing I hadn't figured out was how to move a couch set that was given to us if we would come and pick it up. So I asked my friend with the truck if he could help us move the couch to the storage unit. We have to put most of our stuff into the storage unit while we are house sitting till the end of March. I was so thankful that God prompted my friend to call and that he reminded me to not worry. I know this in my head but to make it happen in the heart can be challanging. As I said I will keep trying to post a couple times a week if possiable. It may be really light hearted or simple but it will be a way of saying I am still alive and kicking. If you comment on my blog I will make sure I will come and say hi to you. God Bless my SS'sIC.
It is a busy time for us too, but we aren't moving for which I am grateful. That is one of the most demanding time consumers. I can't help you much but I will say some prayers for you. ENjoy this ADvent season.
I am sending from happy thoughts from INDIANA!!

Packing usually causes my sunny disposition to fly out the window. And sadly, I have packed frequently. I am sure that it is extra stressful here at Christmas time. I'm so glad you have friends that can help.
I feel bad when we moved to PEI our house in Nova Scotia sold really quickly (like less than a day on the market) and I was working on PEI already so my wife was left home alone luckily (I say now) we had a flood in our basement just after we had decided to move (why we had to move is another story) so there was a large dumpster out side in our yard (actually in the driveway) for clean up so we took full advantage of it, though we still seemed to have a lot of junk (which we still seem to have after almost 2 years)
Thank you so much for your kind comments on my blog... and for thinking of me. :-) Hope your packing goes well and you get all settled in soon. And... if you get too much snow, send some down this way. Our boys are itching to get a good snow fall. :-)

You sound incredibly busy with moving.....and it's in the snowy season. That must make it even more stressful! Wonderful news about the truck! God IS good!

I hope all the packing is moving along (no pun intended!). Maybe you need to put on some Christmas music while you pack. Are you still trying to school while you make this transition. I've had such a hard time trying to get everything done lately. Sigh. My cheery disposition is harder to find as well. I'll say a prayer for you.
I feel very disconnected from everything while trying to move. We have a move like yours that is slightly complicated- except that the military is doing part of it for us.
We are moving to Valdosta, Georgia until mid-May where we are going to be sharing a house with a friend. Then we move to Enid, Oklahoma where we will stay for 3+ years, most likely.
The military will pack up and store for us what we don't want til Enid but anything we want to see in the next 5+ months we have to pack ourselves and it has to fit in my van or my husbands truck for the drive to my parents for Christmas(Washington State) and then back down to California and over to Georgia so it can't be too stuffed full. LOL!
Does that make any sense? I am mostly worried that I will miss something essential for homeschooling and will need to skip it or buy it again. UGH!
Keep on trucking on your move. Know that the Lord is with you and as hard as it is try to remind yourself that it will all work out. I always stress during these times and it drives my dh crazy.
I will try to keep up my blog more in the future. At my parents I should actually have more of an opportunity to. :-)
Blessings to you and strength.
