Dec. 16, 2006~ Christmas on Baker Street and Symbols of Christmas. ~
We went to Christmas on Baker Street . We had alot of fun and it is so neat how the Church's in this area got together and showed the story of the birth of our Savior, up close and personal. This year Joseph, Mary, and baby Jesus was my own pastor and his family.
Mary is a beautiful example of obedience and devotion to our Lord. She was willing to do the Lords calling with a humble heart by saying .... " be it unto your handmaiden."
Luke 1:26-38, 46-56
Devotion with family ....
We don't know alot about Mary but it would be neat to ask your littles what kind of qualities that she may have had to do the Lord's calling even when it may have been kinda scary. Ask "why" would our Lord pick Mary to be the mother of HIS son.
Joseph
Joseph really showed "faith and obedience" . He was about to marry Mary and then he was told she was pregnant. Even though they would be misunderstood he still did what the Lord called him to do. He obeyed the message given to him by the angle and did what was right. ( even what others might think and his own self protection)
Lambs
Jesus is refered as the Lamb of God. Jesus was was born to die for the lambs he was to redeem.... you and me.
Luke 2:8 15-16, John 1:29, John 10:14-15
with your family discuss the qualities of the sheep in these passages.
What can I give Him poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I'd give Him a lamb,
If I were a wise man, I'd do my part.
What can I give Him, give Him my heart. by.... Christina Rosetti

God Bless and let us remember what our Lord did for us and he did not remain in the manger but
lived and taught us what the Lord wanted for us. Then gave His life. He didn't stay on the cross and didn't stay in the tomb but He was raised from the dead so we can live with Him forever.
Beautiful pictures and such a lovely message! Thanks for stopping by. Still having some problems with the template it comes out way too wide to fit the screen but im working on it and waiting to hear about some solutions. :-) Hope your having a very blessed Christmas!
