Feb. 24, 2007~ Floors , Molding, and Electrical Fixtures for the " House that God Built" Update ~
I have been having to make many decisions. So much that when I look at colour it all starts to blur. lol. There has been repetitive times I have made decisions and we find out it was more expensive that we thought and I have to start over again. Also I am trying to have the biggest bang for my buck in the decisions too. For instance the vinyl tiles that are going into my bathrooms , kitchen, and stairs has to be a colour that works in all three areas. ( technically four b/c you see the vinyl tile going down the stairs from our learning room too. ) It has been neat to see how God keeps bringing things to the "House that God Built". We have been recently given 2 bathroom mirrors, 2 ceiling fans w/lights, among other light fixtures, good deals on vinyl tiles, laminate flooring, 2 really good used tubs ( one is a claw foot tub...minus the claws, lol) at a great deal. Plus a stove fan. The paint that we were given was used in most of the house. We were able to tint the paint close to 'Waterbury Cream" .( a Benjamin Moore Paint) God lead me to ask our friend Contractor Dave to help us build this house. Now I am seeing "why" he lead me in this direction. He seems to have all these connections to things that are not being used and then he passes it on to us. What a blessing form the Lord. We ended up paying more in labor but less in supplies. This is where we are remembering to count our blessings. This has been wonderful grace from the Lord. I pray that I am able to use this "House that God Built" for His glory and use. I put the red door at the top of my blog b/c it is a New England tradition to have a red Welcoming Door. This is what I pray to happen at my new home and my blog. I hope my ds shows me how to paste a verse above my top pic. Things to come.... as time premits.
Well this comming week we will be putting in electrical outlets, light switches, light fixtures, flooring, and maybe molding. Times ticking away and are getting really busy. ( but real good kind of busy)
God Bless my SS'sIC

Oh, that all sounds so exciting, Mary! It sounds like the Lord is blessing you beautifully. I have no doubt that you will bless the Lord with this house! Holly
It has been awhile since I have been by your blog. I have been so busy that lately all I have time for is to blog my entry. I love the new look here. It's very pretty.
I wanted to check in to let you know that I can't wait to here more about "Heart of Wisdom Teaching Approach" As you know I a few years ago I really wanted to purchase it and never made the plunge.
I am thinking about maybe getting it for me if not now sometime in the future.
Blessings,
Linda<><
I am glad for you.
And I am working on getting a copy of HOW right now. I did download the sample pages. IT looks like good stuff. Thanks for sending me that direction.
How exciting to be picking out all the stuff. Better you than me though. I don't enjoy that kind of thing. I'm just not visually gifted, I think. It is a chore. It really stresses me out too. I hope you are having fun with it though. Have a great week.

My sister has a red door too. I love red doors. Hmmm I just may have to paint iy in the spring.
Sounds like things are coming right along. How Exciting!
Because of Jesus, Bobbie
I have a confession. We moved in our home in April of 2003, the front door is not painted. There are myriads of reasons that this is true. I don't want to take it down to paint it... I would rather stand on my head and chew nails than paint... but mostly, I really, really want a red door and I am ch-ch-chicken to paint with that bold of a color.
So glad your house is coming together. How exciting!
It sounds like everything is coming along rather "nicely"! How exciting for you all!!! I know you must be counting down the days when everything is finally finished!!! I am so excited for you!!! :0)
How exciting to get your flooring and electrical stuff done : ) I am so happy for you and how the Lord is blessing you as you continue.
Thinking of you,
Rosina
I should have it another week or so. I will let you know when I begin reading it. THanks for recommending it to me. I think it is exactly what I have been looking for to help spark more thinking. I wish you lived closer so we could get together and talk in person. Oh well...
