Mar. 12, 2007~ 365 Days of Photos-day 6 " March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb" ~
I have heard of March coming in like a lion and leaving like a lamb but this beats it all. This morning our plumber showed up and let us know that at the bottom of the hill that we all live on ... the road washed out. The worst of it was in front of the house where we were renting. The water washed away so much of the road that the gas pipe was showing. Now b/c the plumber couldn't get to the highway and couldn't to his other clients he put us on the "top" of his to do list. So he installed our hot water heater today. (0= Now all the prayers for a early spiring and for our temp. water to start flowing guess work too well, lol. We have 2 and a 1/2 weeks before we need to be in the house and it may look real promising. It was almost 8c (60 *f) today. This boys got to see the machinery work on the road. So with out planning it... we got a field trip.
Here is our old rental and do you see the drop off ? At the end of the driveway ???
Here is the spring run off in the creek that caused all the trouble.
I wish I could see you photos, but my filtered internet provider is blocking sites like photobucket and flickr because of pornography and also blocking the images uploaded to blogs from sites like that. I've been doing the 365 days of photos too. Stop by and take a look!
Good thing you didn't go out in the dark and accidentally drive into it! That is definitely quite the ditch : ) Sorry to hear that your digital camera broke : ( but when you do find your 35mm you'll just have to post them in lumps *smile*
You had asked me a while back about our homeschool group and sorry it has taken me this long to get back to you. It is a mixed group of both christian families and non-christian, but the majority of them are christian children on the outings and all of the children are very well behaved. No bad eggs! Our womens monthly meeting is all christian women though since the other moms don't feel comfortable coming to them. They think that we only talk about religion and it's not so it is a real shame. They're missing out though because we have had some really great topics on teaching techniques, lapbooking and curriculum resources. We do have a waiver that all families that belong to our group have to sign which just outlines that we are a christian group and that they are expected to conduct them in a wholesome manner -- no cussing, no picking on anyone (unless in good fun), no satanistic field trips and so on. I hope that you will be able to find some like-minded moms that you can connect with. It is such a great thing to have others to share with but like you said you have HSB and even though we don't get to meet face to face this is a wonderful support network all on its own : )
Keeping you in my prayers,
Rosina
You sure there wasn't an earthquake too?! Good thing that you don't still live there!
All the pics are awesome!
God will take care of the water issue one way or another. I've got lots of stories of how God dealt with people as He was building this YWAM base when they wanted to thwart His plans.
