Mar. 23, 2007~ Waiting on God ~ Part 3 ~
~Watching, Observing, and Taking Notice~
In the third way of waiting on God is to watch, observe, and take notice. With our spiritual senses in the expectation mode we need to be so close to the Lord and so still that we are 1: in His word 2: and in prayer 3: so in tune and sensitive that we can hear his whispers. There are times I will cry out for a verse and God will lay one on my heart. Or I will wake up with a song or a single word in my mind. I have learned that we HAVE to listen to them. These words, verses, songs are gifts from the Lord. I haven't experience them untill the last 5 years. We also need to discern His voice from all else. If we are in the word we will know our Shepherds voice. I pray at times if what I am feeling or thinking is not of Him then in Jesus' name take it away and he has. Test the spirits to see if it of Him.
Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway. ~Proverbs8:34~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This excerpt below is taken from Robin Sampson's book ~Heart of Wisdom Teaching Approach~
" We will not watch long or keenly observe the movements of God for a great length of time before He has some word for us. We will hear Him as He bids us to come or go on a mission; or to speak , write, or pray, or visit someone; or even to sing for Him. Why? Because we are near enough to feel what is on His heart, and so we are able to enter fellowship with Him in service.
Many people do not understand the movement of God in the world as He is speaking to us in present conditions, because they are not near enough or still enough to observe Him. We have seen, and continue to see, God's hand in it all; and because of a peculiar and holy responce in our hearts, we know that God has risen up and that our redemption draws nigh. "

I pray that in our homeschooling and our personal lives that we will be so close in walking with God that we can hear " the whispers of God".
I know that life can throw some curve balls but to be watching, waiting, and listening for our Lord is the best place to be. God allows us to be stretched for his molding and refining. ( even if it is uncomfortable a lot of the times )
Great posts! So encouraging and so true! I get so impatient sometimes and do not wait , stand and LET GOD handle my every need! Thank you for these timely reminders!
