You are so talented. So many in blogland are so talented. I love the comments I am getting on this one, because they are all early teen comments, and I was in my twenties when I finally got saved and discovered Christian music. But oh how I love Keith Green when I need a good God Kick in the Behind and Twila when I need to remember who is God (and that I am not!)
I think I only deleted a reoccuring comment because HSB was being stupid back then. I came over here from Leah's blog I think it was called friends4tea??? she has since moved locations but I am thankful she led me to you. Actually, I think you were all over blogland and I just needed to find my sister in Christ in Canada (hee hee)
Blessed Sabbath to you all.
Because of Jesus, Bobbie
Thank you for sharing that Mary. I like Twila too. I had even went to one of her concerts once. Come to find out, my husband was there too - but that was long before I met him. I like most all Christian music as long as you can understand the words and the beat doesn't override the message. I love hymns the most, Southern gospel music a lot, blue grass, and some contemporary. Back in my early 20's Michael W. Smith & Steven Curtis Chapman were my favorites, and I still like them, but now I don't know if I have a favorite. I guess I'm getting old and am reverting back to hymns and Southern Gospel (something I fell in love with when I went to Bible college down in So. Missouri). I prefer to go to the traditional service at church and sing hymns, but it is sometimes hard for me because I can still hear my beloved daddy singing them right along beside me as a child (daddy went home in 2000) so I tear up a lot because I still miss him. I love going to Christian concerts too, but ticket prices are getting so high and with a family of 4, it's a really special treat when we do go about once every 2 years. I'm kinda bummed in that Philips, Craig & Dean are having a concert at church that is relatively close by, soon, but we will be in FL then. I really wanted to go see them the next time they were in town, and this is so close, (usually they come to a church that is far away and in the middle of winter when travel can be iffy). Oh well, maybe next time. Do you get any/many Christian artists up your way?
Oh, and yes, Bookworm had read Anne of Green Gables and we have seen five of the six videos of it - grandma has a couple that are at our house now and a homeschool friend with a big screen tv invites us over occassionally (along with a couple other families) and we see the other tapes. I love the tapes - I cry at parts in them too - a sign of a really, really good movie. lol I'm usually emotionally drained for the remainer of the day.
Have a Terrific Sabbath.
I can't name just one song! I came to Christ after my 21st birthday. I remember a friend going with me to a music store to help me find some Christian music as I thought I needed to listen to that genre since I was a Christian. I bought Steve Green, Billy Sprague, and Sandy Patty. Then a while later I met my husband and he introduced me to even more good music for the soul. He worked in a Christian bookstore at the time. Lots of fun memories! We went to a Steven Curtis Chapman concert and I really enjoyed his music ever since.

I loved that song-- and still do! Yes, I can definitely sing almost EVERY song with even more heart today. And amazingly enough, it is through both God's blessings AND trials that give me that privilege. I just love how God uses many different things (including song) to bring us closer to Him.
Didn't you say your husband was Jewish? Does he eat Rabbit? Rabbit is on the list of unclean animals and not to be used as food. Just a thought before you equip yourself with rabbit hutches and rabbits.
Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment on my blog. Yes, I have "seen" you around, and I will admit I've been to your blog once without leaving a comment. Sorry, I do still "lurk" sometimes. :) I pray you have had a good day.
JoAnn
I just read your comment on my mom's blog (Kinley or PassionforPurple) I guess I never really noticed on your profile but you and me were both born on July 4th!! I have never met anyone else who shares my bday date!! This is so cool :) Well TTYL
Two songs that were the most powerful to me when I was young was Amazing Grace (young girl) and then El Shadai (sp???) by Amy Grant when I was a teen. I still remember being at an Amy Grant concert at night on a really beautiful evening after we (some friends) came close to getting killed early in the day (long story short, the father that was driving the car almost didn't stop for a train and he skid to a stop last minute), it was a really powerful moment in my life. I really felt the Lord that night.
Oh, my. I will be showing my age here. But right off the top of my head I remember listening to the Imperials a lot, and loving their songs. I also loved the worship songs we sang in our very lively church. As I got college age, I listened to Amy Grant and Sandy Patti--tended toward Amy's more worshipful songs and Sandy's more upbeat ones!
Your drawings are wonderful. You are very talented, and I'm sure you could pick it right back up and develop it.
