Jun. 26, 2007~ A Day we went for a walk in the forest (water easement update) ~
On Sunday my Handsome, 3ds, and I went for a walk in the forest. Our destination was the "old (abandoned) water box". There are some that might not know the scenario of our friendly (not so friendly) neighbor. To make a LONG story short... We are in the process forcing a water easement to get a upgraded water system put in. ( a change of works) Our neighbor can't stop us from our water rights but he can make it real hard and cost us a lot of money.
We have just completed the land survey and appraisal . So now we are getting ready for court. Please, if you remember us while your praying. Please pray for us durring this time. We need wisdom for.... the judges, lawyer, and us to go through this process. We would LOVE to make peace with our neighbor but sadly he in not willing. Time is at its essance b/c while we are all enjoying our summer. I am trying to not worry about winter coming. Yes, I know the verse well about not worring in Mattew chpt. 7. I have been constanly giving it up to the Lord. After we get the go ahead...after we can get in court ....then....we can put in the water pipe and water box.
If all fails we will survive. We may be melting snow for water (for general use) and buy water to drink and cook with. Wash our clothes in town or at MIL's. It will be a adventure and it will build character.
To end on a praising note b/c God said to praise him even in our trials and to love our neighbor. Here is some gorgeous pics of the walk to the old water box and where we want to put the new one.
this is the piece of land our neighbor wants a easement for.
here is the abandoned water box.
God Bless my SS'sIC and thank you for all your prayers. This is the last peice we need for " The House that God Built". I have been holding onto that ....
Praying that the issue is settled as peacefully as can be! What a beautiful site for the easement! WOW! Gorgeous. (I miss BC - it's been forever since we've been there. <grin>)
Sweetie, we will pray hard! Difficult neighbors are hard to deal with but our greatest witness field aren't they? You know they are watching our every move...making things harder. Life w/o water in the winter would be very, very challenging! I know you could do it though with those 4 strapping men! Take care dear one and keep your chin up...God is kissing your forehead!
SSiC,
I am lifting you up. You are so right to lean on Him during this trial. And I will pray for your neighbor. On another note, the hike to the water box is breathtaking! You have such a beautiful mountain. And being creative, would be at least interesting and show tenacity!
Jenn
You live in an absolutely beautiful area. What is a water box though? Is that like a well? I've just never heard of it before. But I understand fights about water. We are in a desert, and the water is very scarce and people are fighting over it all the time. It's really sad to see. I pray things go well for you. :)
JoAnn
Mary, those pics are breathtaking!!! How blessed you allare to live so close to such beauty!!! We will keeep your nighbor and all thos involoved in prayer! It will all work out SSIC, i have no doubts! you will be rewarded for your faithfulness! You are a blessing and an inspiration always!
P.S. Im thinking we need to take a vacation around your parts someday!!! :-)
Mary, do you own the land with the creek also? and why does your neighbor want an easement ?
Mary:
The top part of the creek is in his land. Where the water box is. then this creek flows down through our land and into others land too. We are the second piece of land it flows through. Where you see the water box is in his land. If he was to sub divide then he would loose the area where the water box is to Crown . We have to get a easement if we were getting along with him or not. The reason we are having trouble now is b/c there was no legal easement when my MIL and the neighbor build the water box 30 years ago. He isn't a very happy person and is VERY greedy. There are more and more people fighting about water now days. Without this easement if we were to improve our water line our neighbor would have legal right to tare out what we do on his land. And he would too. )0=
Oh my......too bad you can't just drill a well. So sorry about the neighbor. But what a beautiful setting. The kind of place we like to go to for vacations! wow. I can't imagine living there.

Ooohh, VERY PRETTY land my SSiC. You sure are blessed to have such pretty places to hike and I'd love to have that stream in my back yard. Too bad you have to go through all this, it sounds rather complicated. Some neighbors can be soooo un-neighborly. Our neighbor to the west of us has threatened our neighbor to the south of us that he would shoot if he caught her riding her horse on his land again (its along a trail on the river). And our neighbor to the north of us moved here from Montana where there is the open range law. She thought all her neighbor's land was fair game to ride and graze her horses on. We didn't mind too much, but then when she came to me wanting to chop down some of our trees so her horses wouldn't eat them (toxic), that is where I drew the line. lol And the neighbor next to them wants all of us to pay some to have oil or some chemical sprayed on our dirt road to keep the dust down so it doesn't fly into their house - lol - that was vetoed. The road was here long before they built (kinda like your neighbor). If they didn't want dust, they should have thought about that before building on a dirt road. I'll be praying for you and your situation and for your grumpy neighbor too. :)
When we lived in Philadelphia we shared a driveway with a difficult man and his more difficult wife and his violent sons and daughter (grown.). We had some very tough times. God worked things out for us by us selling the house for triple what we paid for it and moving away to a small town in the country. So God turned the evil into good for us. I will be praying for you. I remember the turmoil I battled inside when things were at their worst.
I will pray. I know that this has been a "thorn in your flesh" for some time now. Hope this all gets settled for you guys soon. Thanks for sharing the beautiful pictures! And yes, there is plenty to praise God for! :-)

Hi Mary, I hope this gets worked out in the most peaceful and God fearing way possible. Have you tried to dig a well? Are there no other options? How about connecting into where the creek is on your property or connecting to your MIL's house? Are there no other options?
In the short term maybe a pump from a different location or a well could be fine but in the long term it will cost a lot more and we would be higher maintenance. We have neighbors who live two houses down and they had to dig below lake level to get water and it was VERY costly for them. It really isn't a good way to go. I just put it out again for prayer b/c we are getting ready for court soon.
I lived in a trailer for a short amount of time and for several weeks, I had no running water. But praise God, it was in the dead of winter and there was plenty of snow to melt. It was amazing the amount of snow you need to wash your dishes. But I also used that water to force flush the toilet. I don't know what I would have done if it had been in summer.
I'm sure I've left a comment on this post before, but I wanted to leave another one. I just finished reading all your posts in "The House the God Built". I was really interested in how this all started. What a story. The Lord is so awesome in His blessings. We have been married 13 years, and we still rent. I, to, dream of a time we can own a home, whether we build or not. It's encouraging to read how the Lord has led you. I pray that the water situation works out for you. Thank you for taking us along with this part of your life. :)

Hello. A friend of yours suggested I drop by your blog as we have been renovating recently. I am impressed by the beautiful countryside you are surrounded by. It is gorgeous. You truly are blessed. I will pray that all goes well with your neighbour and court case.
Your house looks lovely and what a wonderful job you have done with all the curtains. That was one thing I didn't get to. We bought ours, but they are so much nicer homemade.
I have enjoyed getting to know your family a little as I have read through your blog. Keep up the great work.
Love
Amanda
