Aug. 3, 2007~ Show and Tell Friday ~A peek into our outside schooling... my squash beds ~
I want to share my most favorite things to plant in the garden. My....squash plants. I love things that grow on vines. I have a thing for vine plants if it be climbing roses ( plant in the future....spring time sounds good) to pumpkins. Today is showing my plants that I started waaaaaay back before we could even do anything outside in the garden. Meaning my plant table that my older brother made me.
They started as small as this....
Then they grew to this....
Then....this big....
Now, here they are... bigger. We still have up till late September and maybe into October for these to grow nice and BIG.
One other thing I LOVE to grow in my garden is Basil.
I thought this little guy or gal was to cute to not take a pic of.
It is Show and Tell Friday. If you want to join us just....
~Make a Show and Tell Post and make sure it is wholesome. It can be pretty much what ever you want to share. It could be about you ...or your family ....or what is going on in your homeschooling.
~Some how link me ( Canadagirl ) so others will know where to go to join S&T.
~Come back to me and let me know you posted your S&T and I will link you too. ( I need you to tell me each week that you want to participate , okay ? )

~Then go visit all these fabulous S&T's
~Remember everyone 's comments ! So, please let these gals know what great posts they put up.
Hi Mary,
Do you plant them on a hill? We used to do that and it helped with drainage. Beautiful pictures! You certainly have a bounty of good food for your family this fall. Have you ever made squash pie? Yummy!
Blessings, Mama Karen
Beautiful!!!!! Wow, beautiful!!! I love the lady bug, cute.
My S&T is up, company left earlier this morning.
I still have to catch up with all of my blogging friends.
(((hugs)))
Hey, you live in B.C. Why are your squash (is that a Sweetmeat I saw?) taking over and mine is STILL blossomless!!! I am outraged at the horrible squash situation at my house. I planted Sweetmeat (for my mom), Danish (for my mom) and 2 zuchinni (for me). They are doing nothing. If we could post pics in comments, I'd show you and maybe you could pray over them. :-) As it is, no way would I put my sickly plants on my blog for the entire homeschool world to see.
Oh, my daughter called. "Mom, I've got this huge zuchinni somebody gave me. Do you want it?"
How's that for humiliation? To accept somebody else's rejected zuchinni is a new low for me. Hmmm...is there a spiritual application here somewhere?
Oh Mary I loved this S&T, how blessed you are with this bountiful garden! Look at what we can do with our hands a bit o caring :-)
Hey I was thinking this must be an awful lot of work for you to do since everyone has to let you know they are doing show n tell, would you like to try the Mister Linky thing and everyone that wants to join in can just come add their post? If by chance someone adds a post that you don't approve of you have the authority as the owner to delete it. Just a though, if you want to try it let me know and I can help you with it!
Very nice, Mary! Gardening is one thing I wish I wanted to do more of. I like the idea of gardening but when it comes down to it I can't seem to get around to it!
Here is my S&T link: http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/sharity/367519/
Ashley & I started a lot of our garden plants inside too! Isn't it fun to watch things change over the days? We started canteloupe inside, but when we transplanted them outside they died off. We planted some seeds outside and we now have mellons about the size of large softballs. I hope they make it! Good luck with yours. Okay, you do realize what a freak I am with songs popping into my head. Not a song now, but I'm thinking....'Mary, Mary quite contrary, how does your garden grow?' Okay, I'll stop now. LOL.
Envy is a sin, but oh how I love your garden.
I have a million flowers on my squash and NO fruit. It was the same last year as well! I quit! I will buy it at the farmers market!
My basil and herbs are doing wonderfully. My Oregano is insanely hugh and my lavendar and Parsley too.
