Aug. 23, 2007~ Show and Tell Friday ~ Apple Butter Time ~
It is .....
I thought sense this week I have been very focused on putting up food. I would post my EASY apple butter recipe.
If you want a good recipe go HERE. It is soooooooooo easy because you use a crock pot ! There is no fuss or muss while it cooks down. In step # 5 I used a hot water bath to sterilize my jars in my canner and it keeps them warm till you are ready to fill them. If you have any questions I am open to helping if I can.
If you want to join us just....
~Make a Show and Tell Post and make sure it is wholesome. It can be pretty much what ever you want to share. It could be about you ...or your family ....or what is going on in your homeschooling.
~Some how link me ( Canadagirl ) so others will know where to go to join S&T.
~Come back to me and let me know you posted your S&T by using Mr. Linky. ( I need you to tell me each week that you want to participate , okay ? )

Mmmm! I love apple butter. Apple anything really. I should plant some trees, huh? My sister bought me the apple peeler, slicer, core remover thingy from pampered chef one year. I have won first place in a couple of apple pie contests. I will try to get a S&T up after visiting everyone. We'll see. The new mr. linky thing is nice!
What a great post to wake up too. Food and great food at that. Apple Butter, is awesome 'It rocks'. Love it on a piece of toast 'mmmm good'. This is also a very easy recipe, thanks for sharing a great recipe.
YUM! And your photo looks so inviting as well! I'll be right over. Yeah, you now have Mr. Linky to do the work for you - I wonder if he cans too. Have a nice day my good friend!
I have always really liked apple butter, but I have no canning equipment, so I can't make it. But I buy it whenever I can. Thanks for all your work you do with S&T, they are fun to read. :)

We LOVE apple butter! I heard from someone else that you could make it in the crockpot but have never tried it. It looks easy enough that I just might!
I was just commenting to my dad the other day, how much I loved apple butter! I told him, that I had not had any in years and that it sounded so good. I was going to head into his town and find some at his local touristy shops, I never made it out though. I can't wait to try yours!!

I love Mr. Linky! You are so clever. I saw Tiany has Linky for her Wordless Wednesday, too.
I've never made apple butter. Applesauce, but not the butter. You must have tons of apples.
I use a very similar apple butter crock pot recipe!! I love to make apple butter in the crock pot overnight... the aroma is enough to soothe the soul!!
thanks for sharing!!

Oooh! I'll have to be back after apple picking time to get that recipe. All we've done is applesauce, but we love apple butter. There was a catering company that made the best fried bisuits and apple butter; they used to cater our church picnics, they provided the fried chicken, biscuits and apple butter and everyone else brought side dishes and desserts. Fond, yummy, memories! Anyway, I need to see if I can find a good recipe for fried biscuits too! :)
I'm alittle late again this week - getting this entry in... but I have something yummy to show and tell with all of you today. Hope you stop by. Also, be sure to sign my guest book.
I'm on my way to making my rounds to your place. Can't wait to see what you have to show and tell today...
What is apple butter for? It looks and sounds yummy but I have never been exposed to it where I come from :-) Oh I am so ignorant :-( Thanks for the education :-)
I love apple butter!
Apple season is coming here soon, we are just behind you I think. But the ones I love best are not out until October! I love Pink Lady Apples!
Because of Jesus, Bobbie
Oh Mary you make me get so nostalgic at times. I want to come to your house for Christmas! My mother used to can homemade applesauce and apple butter. They were so yummy we would wipe them out so quickly.
Thanks for sharing this...something to make when I get to Northern California!
Blessings to you dear sister,
Julianne

I love your picture of the apples on the pretty tablecloth. I love looking at pictures like that, but actually making it....nooooo. We have tons of apples on our property. I've been trying to eat a few a day.
I meant to do a show and tell this week - time flew so quickly that I never did it. I kept thinking about what I would do and then I realized it was Friday and it was too late!
