" This is what the Lord says: "Stand at the crossroads and look: ask for
the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you
will find rest for your souls."
Jeremiah 6:16
This song always gets me... every time! To watch the video and hear the story just inspires me to push on. The strength God gives in the midst of trial is empowering.
I will be praying for you. We live in the valley at the beginning of a mountain, but we go in the mountains alot and I understand about the freezing ground. So early, so hard. I pray things get worked out before then, and if not that the Lord gives you strength to work with the 'issues'. :)

That is a good perspective. That song makes me cry when I hear it. Trust in Him for everything. We'll be praying God will soften your neighbor's heart and that you will remain a mirror of Jesus. Adventures in Odyssey (Focus on the Family) has a story about that for kids too.
Court is not fun, but sometimes necessary when dealing with the secular world to enable justice. My DH had to take a state University to court before we moved to CA. God is concerned and knows and will provide all his flock needs. The laundry... I have the same feeling thinking I may have to take ours to an apartment shared laundry room instead of at a separate home, its a pain, and I am used to convenience so rebel :P
Thanks for visiting and for the comments :)

Oh, how frustrating for you! I am so sorry you have to go through this stress. I will continue to pray. Also, I had heard that story before about the hymn. What a man of faith. Have a wonderful Lord's day!

The Lord opens up the flood gates of heaven and blesses you more than you can hope or even imagine.
Now, I had a friend that had an Above ground cistern that they would truck water to as they waited for all the pipes and things to be laid. I guess an old wooden hot tub is something you have thought of ???
(I love the one in the movie "The Wilderness Family")
I do not know how the Lord will deliver you , but I know He will!
Sweet Mary,
I pray that your water issue gets settled without wasting too much money on lawyers, as they seem to benefit most from our struggles. I pray that your water issues are settled before your ground freezes up too.
Blessings to you and your family,
Mama Karen (thanks for giving me this nickname, as it suits me well)
Oh my goodness. I had to pause the video, b/c I couldn't read through my tears. This is one of my favorite hymns and I never knew the tragic story behind it. It makes it even more special now. Thank you for sharing it! I will pray that everything works out with your water system.
Dear Mary, I didn't know of this, I will pray. I am sure the video is wonderful, you my dial-up connection ;(. I do love this hymn, it's beautiful.
Still thinking of a snake name :)
Have a wonderful day.
(((((brazilian hugs)))))
My Goodness! I would have thought this world has advanced far enough in this day and age so that one wouldn't have to fight for water! I'm so sorry that this hasn't been resolved yet.
My prayers are with you that this gets settled before it's too late to get your water system in.
Geeezzz... that was a tear jerker. He must have been an amazing man with an amazing spirit. Praise God! I really hope you get you situation straitened out. I've been praying about it and I will continue to do so.
I tear up every time I hear this testimony and the video was so beautiful - I'm still crying. Makes all my petty little concerns seem like sin.
Oh yes, the on-going battle for water, of all things. I guess you neighbor won't be getting the nice award any time soon. :) Praying that all goes well and this matter is settled soon - water is kinda important don't ya know.
Congratulations on the Nice Matters award too - YOU ARE VERY NICE!
This is my very favorite hymn and story. I am so encouraged by this man & woman who lost all her children and security within a few years. Truly what Satan intended for evil God used for His glory. It is encouraging that these people did not allow tragedy to overpower them.
I am sorry for your trials-I will pray. Lori G
