Oct. 25, 2007~ Update on the "House that God Built" ~
Update:
I had to add this after seeing this on a friend's blog.
It sums up my feelings in a song.
I wanted to update about our getting our permanent water system in. It has been a longer road than what we had hoped it would be. We have tried to work things out with our neighbor and there has been no such luck. We are now in the process of waiting to get our court date to force the water easement. For those who don't know the story go HERE.
It has been a struggle for me the last while. To the point that I was REALLY struggling (stressed) over it. The thought of not having the water to flush a toilet, wash dishes and clothes, and cook has been hard to imagine. I was praying for the Lord to give me what I needed for this winter and help me in my discouragement. The Lord is GOOD. This last week I kept hearing messages about trials and our outlook. Also about spiritual warfare and the whispers from the evil one. He lead people to call me and through what they were sharing of what God was showing them in their quiet times with the Lord and it was what I NEEDED to hear ! They then prayed AMAZING prayers for my family and I. I could just feel the strength of the Lord fill me. The evil one knows what is our weakness and he will play on it. I thank the Lord that He is GREATER and WILL see us through what ever the circumstances are. My prayers are to keep the water running and it not to get colder than -8 C or 18 F ( the pipes would freeze any colder than that) this winter. One of the friends that was lead to call and spoke into our situation said...." God will give us water...if by the taps or a bucket. BUT HE will give us water.
But what ever will be will be and I KNOW there will be a testimony in the end for HIS glory.
Amen.
Now on a lighter note...I thought this pegged me pretty good. LOL
What American accent do you have?
Your Result: North Central
"North Central" is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent. If you saw "Fargo" you probably didn't think the characters sounded very out of the ordinary. Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot.
My sweet friend, I will continue to pray. I'm glad to hear you have been encouraged through this hard trial, we are here with you, you are not alone....yes, the evil one knows how to temp us into thinking and living our fears. The Lord is your strength and Salvation whom shall you fear?
Love you, keep encouraged
(((((huge brazilian hug))))
My prayers go out to you. Sometimes it is hard to have faith but God is good and I am sure you will be provided for. You are having a great attitude facing winter and all. I will pray for your neighbor as well. Something hard must be upon him/her to allow him/her to make a family suffer.
Blessings,
4sweetums
You have the right thoughts about this situation. You will have water. This is the Lord's opportunity to provide. The hard part is waiting. Take any negative thoughts that come your way captive and flush them out of your mind where they belong, my SSiC.
(((hugs)))
Jenn
I saw on Jenn's cbox you had a update on the house that God built, and I had to come over and see what it was. I am so blessed to read how the Lord is helping you change your heart and outlook on this. I do pray the situation will change, but I'm in agreement that the water will keep flowing, and not get below 18F. And I do know how easy that can happen, temperatures going that low, in the mountains. You are such an encouragement to read through this whole process. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. :)
JoAnn
Well, you know how much I hate cold weather. So my prayer will be a multi-purpose pray. First, for it not to get too cold so that your pipes don't freeze....Secondly, for it not to get too cold so I don't freeze. LOL. The last words on this entry made me think of the song on the old Doris Day show....Not sure of the spelling...."K sera sera, whatever will be will be, the futures not ours to see, k sera sera." ;o)
Oh wow - I am still fairly new to your blog so I wasn't aware of this situation. I followed your link back to your previous post - looks like some beautiful land you have! I'll be adding you to my prayers. Why must people be so ornery and difficult?
I'm sure this would be very difficult to do but have you heard of heat tape? we had to use it when we had the trailer home in the front yard and use it under our crawl space in the entry because it gets so cold. I'm sure you've thought of all that...just came to my mind.
I will continue to pray for you! I really wish this could be resolved before court! Take care my friend. Hmmmm... could be mistaken as Canadian accent! Too funny! :)
Mary,
I hope this water situation can get cleared up ASAP!!!! I took the accent test and I am supposedly a "Midland." In other words, according to them, I have no accent. It does say that people in this category have a good voice for radio and TV. Interesting....
Take care,
Karen

I will be praying for your situation. You only need to keep your eyes on Him...but you already know that! God is doing great things in you life...what a testimony you will have over this situation when He has completed it! ((hugs)) Lori
I just wanted you to know how much I love your comments on my blog and your blog, its truly like I'm getting to know you personaly, you always say such sweet things. I am praying for you dear friend-regardless of neighbor when God is with us, no one can be against us! I will lift you up more often and pray your answer comes soon.
So sorry to hear about your water dillema, Mary. God is good, and how wonderful that He saw fit to bring you strength and encouragement through friends. The Holy Spirit is amazing- we are blessed! I'll be praying for you too.
On a side note, I did the little quiz on your blog to determine my accent. I was born in the Chicago area and lived there in the suburbs until I was 8. We then moved to the Pacific N.W. No wonder my English accent is Midland. I thought for sure it would be West. Thanks for the fun survey!
Oh wow Mary.....This is reminding me of that pioneer woman image I first had of you! You know, plumbing and water is something we can really take for granted....until the power goes out. Or back when Y2K was being anticipated. Hey! I'll bet there are Y2K'ers who have those water storage barrels in their garages, etc. that you could borrow if you need to for a while. Put a little ad in the paper! Ha
(sorry....I'm not really laughing at your situation!)

Paraphrased with laughter and grace plus tons of love...
God knows the plans he has for you, Plans to flush and not use an outhouse, plans to have hot water for the tub and the dishes and not have to do them together to conserve. God will give you a future filled with running water and Your hope for hot showers. When you seek Him and His ways You will find Him and a spring of life will follow through your pipes.
May this paraphrase bring giggles and bubbling water to you.
HI Miss Mary,
I have been wondering how you are doing with your neighbor. I am so sorry that it is headed for court. I will PRAY for you, as miracles happen with the power of prayer. I know! The prayer chain that I requested yesterday was so awesomely felt. Thank you dear sister. I am feeling better about the situation with my mom, hopeful that she will take the medicine...I don't know if she will, but I am continuing to pray.
Bless you, MamaK
Goodness, I have no idea where I have been the past few months. I had no idea you are having water problems. I am so sorry! Without easy water, life gets....well...difficult. I checked out the "history" and saw the gorgeous pics of the creeks. Are those on your property? Can't you just drill a well? In the Okanagon, we have a 15 gal/min. well. How many acres do you own? It looks like a lot. Surely there is a place for a well?
Hmmm...maybe I'm being naive or something.
And wow! The accent test pegged you just right, didn't it? I'm waiting for my DS to get home from college so he can take the test. He had to have speech therapy in the 8th grade, but they told him that if he lived in Boston he wouldn't have needed the speech therapy. What was with THAT? I'd love to see how he "tests out" on this.
we have 30 acers...most in a reveen. Our neighbor three houses down drilled a well. They payed a PRETTY penny. They had to drill below lake level to get water. That IS a LOOOONNG way down. /0= So for us to rely on the Lord will be better in the loooonnng run. [0;
