Nov. 28, 2007~ Making Pointsettia Christmas Cards ~
Making Poinsettia Christmas Cards
First you cut your card stock out to proper sizes.
Here is the math in the lessons. Sorry I forgot to translate into inches. Hey there is a good lesson to work on with your kids. Translating metric to imperial.
just in case it is too blurry it is Black square 12x9 cm and white is 10x8cm .
Here is the card plus the two size squares to glue in layers.
First layer glued.
Busy gluing.
Now don't forget to have a very concentrated look.
I forgot to show you the boys stamping the card but we did.
Oh, btw for the scraps after cutting. You can use them too !
With a silver pen you can make gift tags ! I wish you could see the snow flakes better. My 3ds9 Noah made them.
These are projects I love. It was...Art, Language Arts, and Math ! Wow ! I hit 3 subjects with one project. YEAH !!! AND....we had FUN.
Those cards are beautiful! My mom, sister, and I love making cards! Kate's always turn out the best, though. I love using rubber stamps and stickers on my card, but I try not to over-due it! :-)

Oh! Where did you get the pattern for your template. Do you know what I mean? I mean how you have two sidebars...That's what I've been wanting, but I don't know how to do it!
~Rose
Don't worry about it. :-) I totally understand craft fairs and the like. Exhausting things that you swear you will NEVER do again, and then by the next year you've forgotten just how tiring it was and do it again. :-/
The marshmallow guns are so much fun to make! I just found a website with the instructions. The story that goes before it was so funny I almost fell off my chair laughing! It says you need a pipe cutter, but a good hack saw will be fine if you have one.

They're really cheap to make (less than $10, I think). If the guys want a scope on it like on mine, I can write out some instructions for it. I'm at the college now so I can't do the measuring.
Those are beautiful! I need to get some white card stock. I have lots of Christmas stamps, just need to get busy! (I have the best intentions every year! *blush*)
(((hugs)))

Nice job making cards! I usually send out about 45 cards, so making them just would be too labor-intensive. I just send out a Christmas Letter and then send special cards out to 3 relatives too. But with the price of stamps now, I might have to start cutting people from my list.
This is a fantastic idea! I'll have to do this with my ds1 next year (if I can talk him out of us buying cards after this Christmas - we try to hit the 75% off sales).
The cards are gorgeous! Where did you find your stamp? It's so pretty. The gift tags are great as well. I cut up all sorts of things for making gift tags.
I love this time of year. School takes on a whole new look!
I love your cards. The Boys did a great job! I am going to do our Chanukah cards today and then start working on our Holiday letter.
Have a blessed day my Sister!

I love stamping cards! BUt I never thought of using my kids to produce them... ha ha ha
Love the idea but I will have to wait a few years to do that. My kids are younger!
Beautiful cards! You are getting me in the mood for Christmas projects. Maybe we will detour from the usual lessons next week.
You did give me the dates for the Seattle trip. I'm in a quandary, though. DH is wanting to work out a trip for us to meet, but it means missing two other very exciting happenings. One involves military stuff and I'm not allowed to mention it, the other is our church's family camp. The kids would be disappointed if I caused them to miss that. I will keep working on this end and see what I can do. Don't give up on me yet!
What a lovely card Mary : ) Is it a rubber stamp that you made the poinsettia with? We make Christmas cards some years to but not this year *grin* Now you have made me want to whip some up. LOL.
Blessings,
Rosina
I love these! Marissa and I made Christmas cards last year, but have decided to do an newsletter this year instead.
And, I am not sending it out until the day after Christmas, kind of a year in review... cuz, my sweet baby is getting her braces off the week of Christmas and wants to include a photo of herself without.
Did you know that when you get your braces off, you have to get a "whole new look?" Marissa has been experimenting with different hair-doos and is even thinking of adding highlights.
I really love the silver sharpie pen-- very useful for labelling all sorts of things!
As to the stamping, cutting and such, only my oldest would have the patience for it. The others would be stomping instead of stamping! But there is always next year (or the next), right?
