Dec. 5, 2007~ (almost) Wordless Wednesday~ Lighting the Menorah ~
Lighting the first candle of Hanukkah. This menorah is from Israel ( we found that out last night looking at the bottom of it) This was my Handsome's father's that he inherited.
That's a very traditional Chanukkiah - what a blessing to have it from you FIL. Is this your first Chanukkah? or have you done this before as a family?
We don't have a menorah, but my FIL is Jewish. I've always been intrigued by Jewish holidays. (Hubby was adopted, so technically he's not Jewish by blood.)
It is so lovely. I am so glad you posted it. I do hope you are all having a lovely Chanukah. Ours has been so busy. Heather, Tirzah , Kezzi and Chai helped me peel 20 lbs of potatoes yesterday for Congregational Latkes. We made over 150 and brought NONE home. Today was our last Bible Study until January and tonight Mike and I are having a quiet Chanukah together. I hope your Latkes turned out well without as many trials as the fudge gave you.
Because of Jesus, Bobbie
What an ornate menorah! That's so cool to have one passed down to you! I posted pics tonight from our celebration last night on my blog. One of the pics is of our menorahs. This is such a wonderful celebration because we can celebrate our True Light Who is Jesus our Savior. We (my family) don't have anyone around us here to celebrate with. So it's been really encouraging to find others in blogland that celebrate Jesus as the True Light in this celebration.
What a gorgeous keepsake. I'm so thankful for the Light of the world. ;o) And for the wonderful sweet sisters that He has brought into my life. (((hugs))) Sorry to hear about your water problems. Still praying!
Wow, what an ornate menorah. Thanks for showing us. We didn't do so well with keeping up with Hanakah this year. It's been such a busy family time and it seems like I am always rushing at the last minute to put supper on the table or we just get some fast food, and I would forget (sigh). Praying next year will be better and we can slow down a bit.
First , I am a daughter of the King almighty and a

We live in the southern part of British Columbia , Canada on our homestead. We have homeschooled our four boys from birth and plan to go the distance till all four graduate from our homeschool. I teach with a Charlotte Mason style and use the Heart of Wisdom Approach. I love to craft! I am a beader, knitter, x-stitcher, quilter. We have been on a journey of being apart of building "The House that God Built". I have been recording our journey on my blog. Go to my links and you will find it. I know God has a lot more instore for us and we just need to follow where our Lord takes us.
