Jan. 6, 2008~ Post Card Exchange ~
Post Card Exchange
I want to let you know of a real neat geography project that is going on over at Pam's. She and her son are exchanging post cards with others from other states and countries. I jumped at this chance to teach my boys geography in a FUN way !!!
"This would be a great way to get in geography, handwriting practice, and culture studies in a low cost way. And who doesn't like to get mail?
I will have my son place a small sticker on our world map and our US map for each country or state we receive. Any takers? Please leave a comment if you are interested."
I want to encourage you if you want to join in on the fun leave Pam and I a comment and lets get the ball rolling.
Fun. I host a Valentine Card Exchange on my yahoo group. We always track the cards we receive from all over the world. It's a great way to learn geography.
Mary, if your boys would like a postcard from FL, we'd love one from Canada! Just let me know.
A fellow homeschool mom was telling me today about a postcard exchange she and her children have participated in for a few years. It's a Yahoo Group called Post Card Kids - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/postcardkids/ Let me know if you'd like more info and I'll tell you privately what she said.
Oh this sounds like great fun. Maybe I can take a better look at this on Friday, when I have more time. I hope it won't be too late to join by then. It was good to hear from you today. Thanks for always being an encouragement. I can see your bright smile through your words. (((big hugs)))
I would love to participate-I left Pam a comment as well. Please send me an e-mail for our mailing address. eworpell@yahoo.com Thanks for sharing the idea!!
