Jan. 9, 2008~ Back to School Ramblings ~
Ramblings
It has been snowing here again. I really do like snow. I love how white and bright it is and that is good for me mentally. I grew up in Kirkland Wa and it was different colours of gray or maybe sunny. Here is different depths ( meaning how many inches or centimeters) of white (snow). It is easier to send them out in the snow. I have to say we don't live in the part of Canada that gets extreamly cold. We are cold enough to have snow but not so cold you can't go out easily.
I have been easing back the boys into their lessons and it has been pretty good. I have to find a good scheduel and rhythum. My oldest was amazed at how much he had to re-learn and I told him that is why I take smaller holidays (breaks). That way we don't loose as much ground of what we had been learning.
I was very pleased when I was reading with my 2ds and his reading was better than I thought. I am looking at getting the home kit to help his cognitive learning skills but still haven't fully decided. I am also looking at getting a phonics program both are from The Brain Trainers.
I have found some real gems (books) for homeschool that I want to share REAL soon. I am hoping tomorrow.
I also have been squeezing in some knitting and beading in. Yesterday I got a check back from the local artist store that I sell my beaded work at. With that now I can invest in some real good tools for my wire work. I was so excited.
Well, as you can see I didn't have a pic for Wordless Wednesday. I guess you can say I wasn't wordless today.
It's always good to get back into a routine. I'm glad your's is going so smoothly. Paulie's reading is doing much better too. What a blessing. :)

That is great about 2ds's reading. Give him lots of encouragement. My 2dd's reading has been very pleasing lately too. Her writing is starting to get easier for her too.
Here is a comment you made on my blog:
We do need to ask ourselves would God ask us something just to see if we would do or....do you think there is a reason. I do not believe God asks us to do something unless there is a reason. I do know he blesses those who follow HIM wholeheartedly.
Wouldn't that be a reason? To see if our hearts are fully His?
Thanks for your comment.
Love ya!
Carol
PS I'll keep praying for 2ds and wisdom in this matter.
I just viviting your blog. It is good to here how you are doing. My girls wanted to to tell you to please send some of that snow down to north Georgia if you can. They want a snow day so bad. Have a blessed evening.

It's seems like whenever we take a break, we have to get back into the flow of things. Even just taking a couple of days off seems to throw our whole week off. I go for another prenatal appointment tomorrow. They'll be monitoring the baby's movements for 30 minutes and then I'll have my regular prenatal appointment. I only have a couple days shy of two weeks to go! I can't wait!
Hope you have a great night!

Our weather is so warm, for this time of the year. I love snow, don't mind a bit. I am a sunshine girl, I don't mind snow at all as long as we have the sun shining, but grey skies, I wilt like flower without water ;(
I am doing so much better, thank you for the cyber hugs.
I forgot to tell you when last we talked, I can't remember who told me, that phonics is not for every child, some children don't read well because their learning style is not geared for phonics, please don't quote me, but i am almost believing this to be true, for what I've seen with Anna.
