Jan. 31, 2008~ A Sleepy Winter Ramblings ~
Update:
Handsome saved the day. He came home and I asked him if he would be so kind to drive the boys this time. He was a sweetie and said yes. I stayed home made dinner and did a few other things. ( like making my S&T post )
Here I am on a cold and VERY snowy moring. I have found in the last two winters of blogging I sleep more durring this time of the year. I usually get up when Handsome does at 5:30 but I find myself in the winter laying a bit longer and then falling back to sleep. I like to get up at that time and have my quiet time and blogging time. I savor the quietness to think and reflect. Makes it a bit more challenging when I have to squeeze my quiet time and blogging in through out the day instead.
Today is curling day and it is very snowy. I am praying the snow will let up otherwise I feel real nervous about driving. A couple of years ago my oldest ds and I went to town to take him curling and the car slid off the road and rolled. We walked with only a scratch on each of our knees but it left me skiddish about driving in snowy conditions. Before that event I was fine but now I am very leary. I just might send the boys in on the bus if their ride home is for sure going and then I will keep 3ds home this afternoon. But maybe Handsome will come home and tell me the roads are fine. We will see.
This last Tuesday some showed intrest in joining me on Tightwad Tuesday so I will have a Mr. Linky sign up for those who want to share a tightwad tip. IF you want the graphic just right click and save to your computer and load it on something like photobucket.
We are suppose to get more snow today, we'll see. But it is very windy, cold and slick out. All the roads are like ice. I find I want to curl up more too in the morning when Paul gets up. I think its just this time of year, hibernation kicks in. I hope things go smooth for you this afternoon. :)

I have trouble getting out of bed in the winter too, it is just too warm and comfortable!
I have enjoyed the pictures of your snowfall. I'm living vicariously through all my northern friends. My view is about the same as it was in August, only a bit greener because of the rain.
I have the same problem. I found that it helps if I get myself excited the night before about getting up to be with my Lord. I think about what I am going to sing to Him, what coffee I'll brew, things like that. I set my heart on it the night before. Then it is easier to get up. Thankfully, I don't have to get up that early because my kids sleep until 8 or later.
(((hugs)))

Wow, you have a lot of snow now - just like Carol! So how did the boys get to curling? Rolling, how scary! The older I get, the more I like to just stay home.
