Feb. 21, 2008~ Show and Tell Friday~How a Curling Rock is made ~
It's that time again...
Because my two oldest boys are Curling this week end at the B.C . Winter Games. I wanted (...actually my boys REALLY suggested) to educate you on "how" a curling rock is made. I felt this video is the best thing...so here it is. It really is quite intresting. The boys are playing two games on Friday and one on Saturday and Lord willing on Sunday for the finals. So, if you think of it please pray for them to do well and "shine" for our Lord.

Thanks so much for sharing Mary! My whole family enjoyed the video. Being orginally from the NW US I know what curling is however my kids don't. Praying for the boys! What fun! Blessings, Tina
Oh Jesus, thank you for good health strong bodies and heart that show Your love like a Lighthouse beacon. I ask you Lord that you will bless their training. Cause them to recall all they have learned and practiced to get to this place of honor. Let their behavior on and off the ice scream Jesus is Lord. They are Yours and You love exalting Your children to High places. Surround them withyour protection coming and going. Keep them focused, rested, and safe.
Neat video :) I'm going to have to show K that, he loved curling. I'll be thinking of you and the boys this weekend! Hope they have a great time.
Blessings,
Rosina
Did you know there's going to be an "American Idol" type show where someone is going to get picked to join a curling team and get a chance at the olympics.. Canadian idea, but it'll be an American TV show.. It was on the CBC radio.. don't know any names, but you may be able to find the story through today's CBC shows.. it was on the air around 4:30-5:30 today.. (that's mountain time..)
Now THAT was a cool video! Even Ryan watched it, although he came in the middle, so had no clue what curling is. I showed him the beginning again.
Thanks for the GREAT education today!
What a piece of art a curling stone is. My dh and dd wanted to watch so I watched the movie twice.Joy said,
"Cool." and asked a few questions. Looking forward to your updates about the games.
Wow! That was very interesting. It is so amazing that it takes a special type of granite to make it. I pray that your sons are safe and happy this weekend.
Blessings, Mama Karen
Hi Mary! I loved this video. So neat that the stone comes from only a couple spots in the world. Wow. I hope you have a great day. I'll be running around a little. (((hugs)))
Jenn
First I must admit,
that I did not think that this curling rock video would be very interesting...
but it is!
"Only two quarries in the world"
"3 x the resistance of granite"...wow!
That's pretty cool!
That was just so facinating to see how they are made. My son and I were really glued to it while watching. lol I will try and get a S&T up sometime today. Have a great day
Mary, that was a really interesting video. Who knew that so much detail and craftsmanship went into making a curling stone. And, who knew that people would have fun "bowling" with something that weighs 40 pounds. Amazing!
