Mar. 5, 2008~ Thank You and Thankful Thursday ~
I am very thankful for a few of friends I know that are praying for my 2ds and his reading. I have been very blessed by this. For one knowing that we are not alone and the other is that in the last two or three weeks his reading has really picked up ! His reading is so much smoother ! And I am not helping decode as much. I am so excited !!!! We are doing more things like spelling tests and using the book "Simply Grammar" by Karen Anderola. Plus copy work ( my old faithful) and some other assignments. I have been very blessed by using "Draw-Write-Now". Through using this I have desided art is a very important tool for my 3 younger boys. I am very excited about purchasing and using Language Lessons by Queen Homeschool Supplies. They seem to have the neatest LA lessons that are Charlotte Mason Style. My friend eclecticeducation aka Lynn shared this and it looks really good ! I will hopefully order it in April. Yes, I am very thankful indeed.
I just wanted to let you know how much you all are SOOOOOO appreciated. I have been busy with family and life. But I am trying to visit blogs as I can.
Thank you for all of your prayers. Tirzah is beginning to feel better and will probably do her lab work tomorrow. She has gone from burgundy to reddish orange and that is good. That means she is getting a little better.
Hugs to you and all your boys. I love you my Twin.
That is wonderful news, Mary. We need to talk about Simply Grammar sometime. I have often wondered about it. I am glad that you are making your family your top priority and not your blog friends. I think we all understand that. Even though we miss not having you around as much. (((hugs)))
Jenn
how are you!!! My dd struggle with reading too, she is 9. Are you coming to the CM weekend seminar that Cindy Rusthon is give this weekend. I would love to see you there.
Thank you! :) I hope Language Lessons work for you. (I hope they work for me too! lol!) I'm looking forward to ordering them also. I have the Draw Write Now series too. I haven't used it much yet because when I got it, PC was a little beyond it and LO hasn't quite got there yet, but I do plan to use it with LO. I lucked into an awesome deal on it. My friend was selling the entire series for $8 and they are in excellent condition. I just couldn't pass it up even though LO wasn't ready for it yet. What have I been doing??? Hmmmm.... one of the things I'm working on is my own website. I'm not sure when I'm going to get that up and running!!! It's not like blogging!!! I'm very fortunate though, to live in a family with so many computer experts. I'm trying to do as much as I can on my own, but I know when I get stuck (which happens often!!!) I have people I can count on to help me out. So hopefully sometime this spring I will have that up and running. I've also been busy making a lot of my own notebooking pages and stuff.
Yes, that is what I'm squeezing in today--visiting my friends list! Where does the time go????
Oh, I liked the looks of the Draw Write Now. I need to remember to tell my DD about getting that for her boys. Or...better yet...me get it and do it with them next fall when I teach the 2 little ones to read.
And oh, I'm so glad to hear about the success with DS2s reading. When you see them 'get it' it is such a relief!
hugs, SSIC
