Mar. 13, 2008~ Show and Tell Friday~ Our Latest Family Read Aloud ~
It is that time again....
This week I would love and HAVE to share about what we are sooooooo engrossed in reading during our night time family read a loud.
There 6 books out and the Seventh coming in June !!! This series has us HOOKED. Yes, these are awesome books for boys but I think anyone (even girls and parents) would get enjoyment out of them. It is a story that parallels stories in the bible in a Middle Age setting. I have been finding it so much fun to figure out which stories are similar to the ones in the bible.
There is honor, honesty, being true to the King ( God) to the end, and many more biblical lessons that are upheld in the book. Ohhhh so many talks to be had after each nights
reading !!!
We are almost done with the second book. I cannot recommend these enough. Click on to the book pic and it will take you to the books website, The Kingdom Series. They also have the first 6 books on CD. I know what I want to get the boys now !

I've heard so much about these books. How old is your oldest? My Ryan is 16 and loves Eragon, and the Dragons in Our Midst series by Bryan Davis, and he likes allegory and fantasy. Would he like these, or are they for younger boys?
Hello! I've seen so many Show and Tells around that I finally decided to do one myself. Thanks so much for hosting it!
Oh, I've read the Kingdom Series also, and enjoyed them :-). I could complain a bit about the writing, but overall I was quite happy...particularly with the piano pieces in the back of each book!
Thanks again,
This looks like something I will have to share with my son. I had heard of them before and then lost the information. Thank you for sharing it.
On my way to the book store.
I saw those books at our conference, and got three, but haven't started reading them to him yet. I figure this summer when we're not doing so much other stuff. They look hard to put down!

PC loves this series. He has read all six so far. I did not know another one was coming out. Thanks for the heads up!!!
Btw.. I probably should add, PC wanted me to blog about this series and I never got around to it. I don't think I have ever seen him as excited over a book series before, even though he loves to read.
My little one (8) loves anything to do with armor. These might hit the spot when his reading improves. Hope you are doing well. I've been slow on the blogging lately. I'm getting ready to uncover a new site for homeschool families. It's not a community site, but a very educational sites for all home educators. Be looking for the announcement come April 1st. Ohhh.... I will be holding a contest for bloggers during that week, too. Fun stuff!
We've read the first 3 of the older series, they are very good I agree! When you are done with those, you must get "SENTINEL- City of Destiny" by Landel Bilbrey. I'll be doing a book review for the author soon, we have 2 chapters left. anyway, I can't tell you how good this one is too, the analogies used are SO on the mark.
Hope you are doing well! It's kinda rainy out so had to come indoors, otherwise have been busy in the backyard trying to tame this jungle we are renting LOL.
I'm finally back in the blogging world and wanted to stop by and thank you for the prayers. My spouse is healing nicely and hopes to return to work this week.
I will put in on the wish list. Thanks for stopping by this week. I have also found it really hard to find time to read others blogs and even hard to get to posting. Between homeschooling and making a home and helping with the businesses there ain't much time left. But out of sight is not out of mind. you are not forgotten my friend. God Bless you.
