Mama Needs To Write Too ?

This last couple of weeks I have been listening to Cindy Rushton through her Talk-a-latte  "Charlotte Mason Primer" and "Language Arts Easy Way".  And BOY have I been blessed.  I am still using Robin Sampora's "Heart of Wisdom" and these really compliment eachother.  Both use a lot of the Charlotte Mason methods.

One thing that was pressed on my heart by Cindy ( also Charlotte Mason's writings) and what I have been doing differently in the last couple of weeks in my homeschool.   Is... when my kids are doing copy work I am sitting down too and doing copy work.  I am coping down scripture.  Sitting and taking it in and then I move into journaling while my little's are  doing their copy and writen work. I am writing while they are writing.   That has made such a wonderful change in our little homeschool.

In four days I will have been blogging for two years.    I can't believe that much time has passed !  I have been really trying to stretch myself in my writing skills through blogging and now I am trying to learn through other ways too.

Homeschooling isn't ONLY for kids !  Mama's gets to learn too!

I've seen a  big improvement in my own personal spelling and I hope in my writing too.  It is SO true when you hear people say "the best way to learn to write is to write."    I have seen that very truth in my own personal self.  It re-affirms this to me and it encourages me to keep going on in this.  I really hope to expand on this and other things that I am learning, trying to empliment  and what we are being sooooo blesssed by.

Homeschool is a journey for the WHOLE family.

Thank you for letting me share with you

BE BLESSED

I am so happy things are really going good for your hs. I did this many times in the past with Anna, being girls we even decorated our pages with pretty flower stickers... I don't think boys will like this ;)

Thank you for sharing. I never even thought about doing copy work for myself. Maybe I'll try it sometime. :)

I am also in the habit of copying scripture and have found it to be very effective. I see things in God's word that I would have glossed over had I just been reading it.
I never thought to do it while the kids are writing though! What a great idea!

I totally agree that the best way to learn how to write is to do it. Some people are more oratory than others, but we all need to know how to write.
Great post, as always!

It's great that you are finding new things to do and try. And pray it continues to go well with you and your new things. :)

I have started writing out the Bible too.. it's a LONG process, but yes, so worth it. An Elder at our congregation is also writing it out.

I have seen an improvement in your spelling and writing over the past 2 years that I've known you. I think it is a good idea to do writing during that time too. I'll have to think about that and how I can do something too.
