May. 5, 2008~ Tightwad Tuesday~Economy Compost Bin ~
Economy Compost Bin
I have been blogging about gardening and seeing soooooo many other posts about gardening. I thought this would be the perfect time to post this great Tightwad Tip. I don't want to reinvent the wheel so I am going to give you a neat link. This site teaches you how to make your own compost bin with wooden pallets.
I want to encourage who ever I can to garden. I use to always say I had a brown thumb. Well it is no longer that colour and if I can garden ANYONE who puts their mind to it CAN too. Start small and keep learning bit by bit and build on what you have learned so far and it will build your confidence.
There are only a few BIG ways to save money but there are TONS of small ways to save money that ALL adds up.
Please go visit these lovely ladies and glean some good tightwad tips from them.

( I promise I will be better at visiting this week. Last week I had a hard time getting around. I was trying to catch up with being gone )
We can't garden for two reasons:
#1 - No room on our property
#2 - It would cost us more to garden because I'd be visiting the chiropractor MUCH more often.
I really wish we could garden. It would be wonderful to have our own tomatoes and lettuce, etc. And only have to pay for it ONCE, rather than every time we need it.
I have several wooden palates laying in a pile in my garden, and we need to relocate the compost pile anyway! This is a great tip!

My old brown trash can with holes drilled in it seems to be doing a good job making compost too. And the best thing is that it was free!
Have a great day.

Mary, in case you don't get back to my blog to see my follow-up post to yours, I thought I'd post it here as well.
I don't know why you couldn't add some essential oil to the anti-perspirant.
And thank YOU for hosting this blessing! My passion is to help and encourage women in a spiritual sense, but I also have a passion to help them in practical things, like being frugal. You have made it much easier for me to fulfill the vision for why I wanted to start blogging.
Great website - thank you for sharing that. I am REALLY not interested in gardening, but we may find ourselves doing it out of budget necessity. ;~) It just so happens that we have a huge pile of wooden pallets sitting beside the garage right now - we break them down and use as kindling for our woodstove, but DH might be willing to spare a few of them to make a compost bin.
I'm glad your gardening is going well. I don't think we'll be having one this year, non of us have an interest in it. But your's looks very pretty. :)

Please do not feel bad for not coming by sooner! I knew you must be terribly busy returning from your week away. Plus, it sounded like you had a lot of processing too. Very important stuff! Thanks for hosting as always!
