May. 10, 2008~ Something To Share~Having A Heart To Finish The Journey ~
I have been reading Sally and Clay Clarkson's books for years. I have grown in such adoration for them. When I had no mentor for our hs journey and or fellowship with other like minded couples in the journey of homeschooling. I had held onto reading and rereading their books. With me being a mom who for the first time is moving into the world of teens young adults I am in a new arena of learning about relationships.
I want to stress if you have young adults in your family please, please, please read this article by Sally Clarkson from Wholehearted Ministries
It is soooooo easy to feel tired, weary, you feel your job is done and you want to let someone else finish the job of educating your child. If you feel that way when your child is between ages 5 to 18 then please go and read this. You will feel rejuvinated and you can keep going on the road that the Lord called you on. I was hitting burnout the last year or two. ( I never wanted to throw in the towel but felt dry) But I remember crying out to the Lord I needed Him to fill my cup and over flow it. Here I thought He would give me a small and steady trickle but NO he gave me a river ! I have to remember we have a BIG God and we have to expect that He will do BIG things in our lives.
I am still being rejuvinated but I know that He is leading me now in the way I need to go with my homeschooling. I am starting to reap the seeds I have sown so long ago. ( 15 years almost 16 years now) I am getting a chance to enjoy my oldest like I always hoped. PTL! Our family still has some more growning pains to go through but if we look to the mountains and KNOW where our strength comes from. ( The Lord) We will be victors because of Christ and not us.
I like Sally Clarkson's books too. Thanks for sharing! My dd is 10 going on 11 and keeps reminding me that she will be a teenager soon. I don't know what is in store, but has been using motherhood(and homeschooling) to grow and change me.
It's Penney from Cindy Rushton's classes. I've been missing everybody, and I suddenly realized that I could at least get in touch with you through your blog.
I still want to read all of your posts about the house that God built. Like where did you get the money and how did you know where God was leading you. We are going through bankruptcy right now. It will be final May 19. God has led us on a very winding, confusing road. We lived by faith with no income for 4 years and then we lost our house. God provided everything except the mortgage payment that last year. We didn't want to file for bankruptcy, because we wanted to pay the legitimate debts we owed, but we never got in a position where we could do more than survive. So we were finally pushed to declare bankruptcy before these creditors took us to court. So now we're kind of back to square one. We were just starting to improve our credit scores, but I don't think they'll be very good after a bankruptcy. But we're still trusting God for a bigger house with land and privacy. With 9 almost 10 kids, this 4 bedroom house is not enough. And we're right in the city and want to live in the country. The setting around your house seems ideal. I would love to live somewhere like that.
Well, that's why I want to know about how God gave you a house. I guess I'll get back to making chili.
