May. 29, 2008~ Show and Tell Friday~Heirloom Dresser ~
It's that time again...
On my last Simple Woman's Daybook I was asked about the dresser in the picture I shared.
Here is a close up of the drawer's woodwork.
It is my hubby's father's mother's dresser. ( You got that ? ) We just inherited it this year after we moved into " The House that God Built".
My hubby now has two pieces from his dad's side of the family. I love these old pieces. I am a antique collector wanna be.( when and if the funds allow. But really the pieces we have so far are given to us) I am very thankful for them.
Attention !!! Next week on Show and Tell Friday I will ask for those who want to "Show and Tell" their beloved pets ....please do ! Tell us anything special about them that you want. Other wise please share something that you want to.
Now....
*** Remember in Show and Tell Friday ...the best way to get a comment is to give a comment. ***
If you want to join us

What a beautiful dresser. I love having family treasures around me. It is nice living with history and being able to tell our children stories about their relatives.
Blessings,
Dawn
What a beautiful piece. I have two dressers that we just love. One is hand made from about 1895. The other is a Sears and Robuck piece from 1900. The hand made one is special because I outbid a dealer at aucion while 8 months pregnate! I had come several weeks in a row waiting for it to come up on the block and I was not going home with out it! It cost me 135.00. That was 22 years ago.
That dresser is beautiful!
I am an antique collector wanna be, too.
Money and space deter me.
I have been so busy, so I haven't done any Friday SNT for a while. I look forward to being back in the groove. I always enjoy sharing and seeing other's SNT. Looking forward to pet share next week.
Happy Friday and hope your weekend is great,
Blessings,
Linda
That is an absolutely gorgeous piece! I just received some furniture from my family and it is a real treasure. I am an antique wanna be too...

Hi Mary, dear friend. What a piece of art you have been given. Boy, they really put a lot of effort into furniture way back in the day. I like your idea about "theme" S&T. Perhaps you could publish a list in advance or ask for suggestions? Then we could plan ahead. Have a fantastic day!

The Coral Island is slow go. I don't know if ds1 is just restless and wanting to have fun now that it's summer or if he's just having a hard time getting into the book.
Sorry, I'm bowing out of S&T for this week, I've had such a busy last 7 days that all's I want to do is nap. I don't even feel like blogging (gasp). lol We went to a fun garden/open house yesterday of a lady that owns an antique/botique shop and now I think my house is blah - I need to redo the whole thing. lol Have a good weekend!!!
