Jul. 17, 2008~ Show and Tell Friday~ My Dad's Veteran's Wall ~
It's that time again...
I wanted to share a virtual tour of our garden but I can't seem upload my video onto You tube. Soooo, instead I will share another tidbit of my trip to the Greater Seattle area.
My dad passed away about 5 years ago and I am now just resolving some grief. I am good and thankful that God took me through some healing. One thing I hadn't done till this year was to go visit my dad's vetran wall. It was a time of blessing. My two brothers and Mom came with us and I was very thankful. Here is some pics of that morning.

Mary, I am glad you took the opportunity to visit your Dad. You may remember that my Dad died while visiting me. He is buried at Fort Snelling. Standing at his grave, you can watch planes take off and land from the airport. The exit to the Mall of America is just a mile or so away. I try to visit him often. I never thought I would be the kind of person to visit a gravesite. Afterall, what we buried is an empty tent. What is truly my father has entered eternity; he awaits his bodily resurrection. But, I have needed time to heal. It hasn't even been two years.
Your photos bring back memories. I used to be able to see Mt. Ranier from my backyard. I love Snoqualmie Falls. I even stopped and looked at houses up there once. Who am I kidding? I couldn't afford those houses, but... hey they had model homes and I had an afternoon free.
What precious memories you must hold close to your heart of your dad. Your mother looks so very sweet. Thank you for sharing! Mt. Rainier is a truly awesome mountain.
Hugs,
Mama Karen
Thank you for sharing! I do miss my native pacific northwest. I was born and raised in the Seattle area and Mt Ranier was a constant in my life as were the falls. How wonderful that you got to walk the wall and reflect.
What beautiful pictures! I would love to visit Washington state one day. I am happy that you were able to visit the Veterans' Wall. I am sure that was a special time for you. :)
Blessings~
Toni
You are so blessed to have the opportunity to see such beauty, don't ever take it for granted!!! Here in Louisiana all we have is flat flat and more flat. No rolling hills or snow or plains just swamp and flat! lol lots of humidity too :-)
Loved the pics, the scenery is gorgeous and you look so pretty :-)
I know your heart is still healing but I also know you have come a long way in the healing process, how was your visit with your mother? I pray all is well and mending!
What a wonderful thing, Mary, to close the door to grief just a little more. Anytime we can do that, it's such a spiritual healing for our souls. I'm so glad you got to do that!!
Hi Mary! Sorry I'm late in posting today - things have been crazy here this week!!! I love your photos... your family is so beautiful. Have a great weekend.
I've never been there or anywhere close to it...
so I enjoy seeing your photos.
I think The Wall would bring out very emotional feelings.
Mt. Rainier is awesome!
I am so glad to hear you made the trip and it went well. It's a mighty beautiful place. That mountain is so regal. I'd love to see it in person one day. (((hugs)))
