Jul. 21, 2008~ Tightwad Tuesday~ A Tightwad Summer Outing ~
Here is tightwad summer outing ! I found that going to a beach is a perfect tightwad summer outing. If you get some sand toys (bought or scavanged from around the house) , towels, floating devices, and some goodies to eat. You are set for a very FUN and economical day !
Here are some pics of yesterday at another beach near us.

Looks like your family had a fun day at the beach. I love cheap entertainment. My kids really enjoy digging in the sand. My husband had a truck load of sand delivered for a landscaping project. He told all the kids to not play in it. But a big pile of sand is just too tempting. The pile has been greatly spread out and is filled with castles and motes.
It makes me shiver to think about you all going to the beach in Canada! We love the beach, it is a great way to spend the day without spending any money!

Yes, that's a great idea, taking advantage of local places. It saves on gas as well. And one good thing I was thinking about earlier in the weekend is that our kids don't really care that we are on a budget because they have lots of fun wherever we go. Last night we celebrated Grace's birthday with coupons from a nice ice cream store. All 5 of us for less than $10 is a bargain. If I had time to do a TT, I'd do it on signing up for free birthday coupons!

I hope this finds you well, and your son off at camp enjoying himself to no end. Be careful moving that hutch today! Make sure your boys help you - and carry the brunt of it!
Your pictures of the beach are stirring up such a longing in me. We don't have beaches here; they're all boulders or dirt with pointy rocks. I miss the Great Lakes - or rather, any lakes with beaches, lol!!
Looks like you all had a wonderful time yesterday! I hope you thoroughly enjoy today as well! I'm off to Mass this morning, and then running errands. I'll chat with you later!
OOOO I miss living by the beach. We lived on the gulf coast until 2 years ago. You are right it is a cheap outing. Now we live 4 hours away :(
Be blessed,
Chasity
I wish I could play on a beach! (lol) You are so right about finding things from home to take though, saves $$$. Looks like they had a lot of fun!
Hugs, Mama Karen
Oh I miss the beach. With a kid in a cast, the beach will have to wait for us. Last year it was me in a cast and no beach - hmmm. Hope I don't have to wait a whole year for a trip to play in the water - Your family looks like they are having so much fun!!!
Hi Mary!
How are you? I am good!
Good pictures! It looks like you had a fun time! The weather has been too cold here to go to the lake but I did get Baptized last Sunday! So I got dunked in a lake then! I posted pictures of it on my blog.
Have a good week!
I'm sorry I've been away for the past couple weeks. But now am back and catching up with friends. I'm still interested in hearing about 'the house that God built,' whatever is happening with it.
Hello again.....I didn't realize there were other Butterfly Pavilions elsewhere, very cool. I'll have to look them up in case we happen to be in that city....
I wish we had a beach near us. The closest one is about seven hours away. We did have to make a surprise trip to Atlanta on Monday and stayed until today, but that was not much fun.
I love low cost field trips.
Hugs,
Pam
I am so glad we're working together on these projects!! I actually told Robyn today on the phone that I would have walked away from the job except that you and I had agreed to post all about it - with pics! - on Friday. You were my motivation!!! Thank you so much!! :)
I agree that we should do another one together. Except the one that I'm thinking of is a 1-2 week job I have to tackle. Oooh, or I have a 3-5 day job. Which one best suits your needs? Both of them need to get done, and I've been procrastinating on them BOTH! You pick. :)
All right - I need to call hubby and find out if he's coming home anytime soon. :) And may I just say that YOU are one of my absolute favorite blogging buddies. If I could come visit you, I would in a heartbeat. I feel a connection with you, and I so enjoy our correspondence! :) I'm glad you enjoy our friendship as well!
((Hugs)), my sweet friend, and I'll catch up with you tomorrow!
