Jul. 31, 2008~ Show and Tell Friday~ Look What I found ! ~
It's that time again...
I wanted to share a treasure I found recently at the beach near us ! I found a heart shaped rock and thought that it was pretty cool to find one that shape. I just love hearts. But when I was wondering what I was going to Show and Tell this week. Something inside prompted me to look at this rock a bit closer. All of a sudden I realized what I had found !!! I have been hearing for years that there were arrowheads left around the beaches here from the natives in this area long ago. I also know this one family who has found several arrowheads over the years. Even though I had always hoped to find one I kinda gave up. But little did I know it but I had found one !!!
Here it is...
Now....

"If mothers could learn to do for themselves what they do for their children when these are overdone, we should have happier households. Let the mother go out to play!
If she would have the courage to let everything go when life becomes too tense, and just take a day, or half a day, out in the fields, or with a favourite book, or in
a picture gallery looking long and well at just two or three pictures, or in bed, without the children, life would go on far more happily for both children and parents.
The mother would then be able to hold herself in "wise passiveness’ and would not fret her children by continual interference even of hand or eye - she would let them
be." ...Charlotte Mason
It is so exciting to find arrowheads! I will never forget the one we found just laying on the ground after a rain. Amazing. Yours is fat ( different shapes for different uses). Do you know what Indian group it is from and what it was used for?
Wow! What a find! We have a little friend who is always on the hunt for arrow heads. They live on an acreage that his great-grandma grew up on, and she told him Indians used to live near the stream on the property. So armed with that information, he has found several and our kids like to join in on the hunt when we go over to visit. =)
How very cool!! I have never found one and had never heard of folks finding them -- til talking with my dh. He said he found them all the time in the woods he used to play in as a child ( in OR )
Very cool -- it does look like a heart.........
Thanks for answering my questions about your garden. 30 feet away....so nice ot live so close!! Makes holidays easy, huh?! We arent even in the same state as any family, so 30 feet is WOW to me! :)) I will google the 7 grain, thanks!
Hi Mary!
That is really cool! I wish I could see a picture of how those arrow heads were used. I am guessing some museum has an entire one intact? I'd be curius to see that.
I have been very busy this weekend and I'm just now getting to visit everyone. We just had our 4th grandchild arrive - Kayla - 7.5 oz. I'm very excited!

I stumbled across your blog somehow, and was excited to find another American in Canada!! We just moved from BC (Lower Mainland) to Southern Alberta, but we've been in Canada for almost 11 years now. (We are BOTH Americans, my husband and I.)
First , I am a daughter of the King almighty and a
a wife to my Handsome of 19 years. A mom of 4 on the go boys 17, 15, 11, and 9. I grew up in the states but married my Canadian sweetheart and moved up north.
We live in the southern part of British Columbia , Canada on our homestead. We have homeschooled our four boys from birth and plan to go the distance till all four graduate from our homeschool. I teach with a Charlotte Mason style. I love to craft! I am a beader, knitter, x-stitcher, quilter. We have been on a journey of being apart of building "The House that God Built". I have been recording our journey on my blog. Go to my links on The House That God Built and you will find it. I know God has a lot more instore for us and we just need to follow where our Lord takes us.
This blog is the home of Show and Tell Friday's and Tightwad Tuesdays. I hope you decide to join in on the fun !
Blessings and ((HUGS))
