Aug. 28, 2008~ Show and Tell Friday~ Whats growing in the Garden and Building Tool Shed ~
It's that time again...
I was hoping to go into the garden today to save seeds but couldn't because it was too wet so I took pics instead. I just love growing plants that are vines. I don't know what it is but I am totally fascinated by them. I also took some pics of my Handsome's cousin building our shed. It is extended off of our wood shed that was built last year. My 2ds13 was helping and in the slide show it shows him peeling the logs. Handsome's cousin makes timber frame houses and the beams are sooooo neat !
I am hoping we have a nice and warm September so our squash grows real well. I would love to pickle a lot more zucchinni pickles. We use them for lunches. Please be patient with the slide show. And make sure you see the pics of all the veggies in the garden and the pics of the tool shed.
Now....

"If mothers could learn to do for themselves what they do for their children when these are overdone, we should have happier households. Let the mother go out to play!
If she would have the courage to let everything go when life becomes too tense, and just take a day, or half a day, out in the fields, or with a favourite book, or in
a picture gallery looking long and well at just two or three pictures, or in bed, without the children, life would go on far more happily for both children and parents.
The mother would then be able to hold herself in "wise passiveness’ and would not fret her children by continual interference even of hand or eye - she would let them
be." ...Charlotte Mason
I'm first! I'm first! I've never been first!! Being in the Pacific time zone and everybody else's blog(or so it seems) ahead of us, I'm always waaay down the list on these Mr Linky things!!
Anyhow, now that my excitement is over...
Your squash looks great! I love squash, but unless we have a baby in the house, nobody else seems to care for it. Sometimes I buy small ones just for me, but I don't think it would be worth it for us to ever grow them.
And what a neat experience for your sons to get it on some building!
Have a great Friday, I'm going to be shopping for school supplies. I hope Wal-Mart isn't crowded!
Those plants look amazing...I wished I was closer...I'd be coming for supper (that is what we call the last meal of the day, maybe you call it dinner). Either way I want to come over. Also I love the shed, amazing!! Such hard work, but just beautiful.
Be blessed,
Chasity
Your garden looks great! You sure are growing a lot of different kinds of squash. It all looks so delicious and healthy! I am sure you will enjoy it!

Lovely! I know that you are so busy now with canning and gathering precious seeds...your winter months will be bountiful! I pray that you have sunny warm September days for your squash. Yummy!!!
Hugs, Karen
Wow you have such an awesome garden. I love all the different kinds of squash! I need to take a pic of our birdhouse gourds. They have taken over half the yard. They bloom evening to late morning. At night we have seem hummingbirds gathering nectur from them! Trying to get a picture of them.
I love your garden! Everything looks so healthy and growing. I hope it stays warm for you, too, so your squash will keep on growing.
I love those logs! They are beautiful. What a blessing to get a new shed. That looks like really good work for Luke to do. I think my oldest would enjoy that, too. He likes to work with wood.
Mary, Mary, quite contrary, how does your garden grow?
Yours grows well!! I loved seeing the pictures, especially of the arch and Luke peeling the wood. What a gift he's able to learn that! I often lament that 'old' skills just keep disappearing, making it more difficult for those of us who would like continue the tradition; often there's no one to teach it anymore.
Thanks for sharing! I always love seeing your garden pictures. (((((HUGS))))), my sweet friend!!!
I love Spaghetti squash and the Blue one looks fun. The Cinderella pumpkin, I have a few princesses in my life that would love them. But the Volunteer Squash threw me. What exactly is that?
I love you.
Because of Jesus, Bobbie
Oh Mary I messed up....Sorry. When I was putting in my name. I hit tab to put in my website..when I did it jumped down to the Tightward post and I put my link there. Then when I went and hit home on your site is when I realized what happened. Please forgive me. I have my S&T post up, but that is all. SORRY!!!!!!!!
Be blessed,
Chasity
Oh Mary I must be really brain dead...now I checked my link and my fingers mispelled homeschoolblogger...so it did not link to the right site. I do not know how to remove the incorrect link. I need to go have chocolate or something so my brain will work right. SORRY AGAIN!!!!!!!
Be blessed,
Chasity
Wow, the garden looks great! I'm jealous. We don't plant over the summer here in Florida unless you want to harvest already cooked veggies, lol! Can't wait to see what you make out of all those yummy veggies.
