Nov. 17, 2008~ Tightwad Tuesday~ A Simply Scrumptious and Easy Fudge ~
A Simply Scrumptious and EASY Fudge
Would you like a really good and EASY way to make a treat for the up coming holiday ? I thought so. Now this is not as tightwad'ish as most of my other tips but it IS less expensive than going to buy fudge at a candy store.
Well here is what you do.
You take one can of sweetend condenced milk ( on sale if possible) and one bag of chocolate chips. ( on sale too if possible) You take these two and pour into a medium sized pan stir until melted together then add a capful of vanilla and stir promptly. Pour and scrap with your tightwad tool ...a spatula and scrap every bit you can into a well buttered dish and then let it cool. This is VERY easy and VERY good ! Now if you want to take this up one more notch of yumminess then you can use one box of bakers chocolate instead of the chocolate chips.
"There are only a few big ways to save money but there are many small ways ....that all adds up."

I was just thinking about looking for a fudge recipe for the holidays. This one sounds like a winner. Thanks for sharing. I just bought those two ingredients on sale last night!

This seems so simple...I will have to try it. The milk is pricy right now. I have been watching for it to go on sale.I got a case of reeses peanut butter cup ( mini0 chips from the food pantry. 12 bags! We made cookies for the homeless last night and I plan to use them to make cookies in a jar as gifts.
Yummy! That sounds really good and so easy. I will have to try that. Today is bread making day so there probably won't be time for sweets too.
Blessings,
Dawn
My hubby loves fudge! I have to make a batch every year for him. This one looks really easy. I make the one on the Marshmellow creme jar. I found a jar of it at one of our discount grocerys for 78 cents this year.
I would love to see our churchs wheat farms! That would be a sight to see. I just bought 125lbs of that wheat from our cannery in Slidell a couple weeks back. Very good stuff!
What a great blog. I'm glad I found you on the blogger awards. We also homeschool and have 5 boys (one has graduated). I love your pics of your garden!! We don't have one at this time, but it is in my heart...
Blessings to you,
Sheri

Is this the same fudge that you sell? Oh, this sounds wonderful and so easy. I usually do the marshmellow cream kind, but this is even easier and one less thing to buy, so that makes it cheaper as well. Thank you sweet friend.

I have tried it with mint choc. chips and dark choc. chips. I really like those two but I also tried butterscotch chips and it didn't really like them in the fudge recipe. I haven't tried white choc but that sounds yummy.
Just checking - this goes in a buttered bread pan, right? Do you line it with foil and then butter the foil? I've seen recipes like that. I have a glass dish, so wondered if the foil was necessary.
