~ Show and Tel Friday~ My Testimony and Christmas on main street ~

    It's that time again....

I gave this testimony last Sunday morning in church.  I pray it may bless you.  It did me while learning how to give a testimony.  I had lots of time to reflect on what God has done.  I was alloted a 5 min. span of time.  Otherwise it would have been A LOT longer. LOL

    My Testimony

    .

Jesus didn't stay in the manger and is here to help us today.  I would like to share a slice of our journey of what I have affectionatly nic named " The House That God Built".  It started with me letting go of us owning our own house.  That was when I started to pray " Lord, meet me at my unbelief."  I saw God provide time and time again.  He would meet needs in ways I never imagined.

    .

There were three people who kept encouraging us to get out of renting and one time I said.. "If we get to own our own house it will be because God built it".  Little did I know he would.  God constantly provided people, supplies, good deals, and funds.  There were so many times we didn't know how we were going to get projects done and then God would provide what we needed when we needed it.

    .

Now while all these little miracles were happening we were having a lot of struggles with our neighbor next door.  He was only willing to give us the water easement if we would compromise to his wants.  The problem we felt was that he was asking too much.  We have tried to negotiate now for three years now and nothing has budged.  The sad thing is my MIL has had issues with him for 30 years now.  It has been a long journey.

    .

In this journey we have learned to...

1- Love our neighbor as ourselves

2- Love and pray for our enemies.

3-God is faithful, in control, and with God all things are possible.

    4-God goes ahead of us...

    for example...

My MIL ws encouraged by a electrition to put in a 200 amp box instead of a 60 -100 amp box which was common at the time.  It provided power when we couldn't get the easement to access power form the electric poll.  Now that has been forced and we have that solved.

    .

5- God is with us today...

    for example...

When last year our temperary water line froze and we were halling buckets of water for a month.  I was trying real hard to be positive and say that God was training character in us.

Well the verse Romans 8:26 helped.

The Spirit helps us in our weakness.  We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intersedes for us with groans that words cannot express.  and he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.

    .

I prayed that God would get things moving because things were held up in the legal asspect.  Handsome met with the lawyer and the lawyer had been waking up at night not feeling settled about our case.  He told Handsome that he wanted to clear what we had owing at that time and bring on another lawyer.  Bring that lawyer up to speed at his cost.  This is a God thing !  Lawyers just don't do that .

    .

I have learned to "lift my eyes up to the mountains and KNOW where my strength comes from"....to keep my eyes on Jesus and not my circumstances.

    .

I want to share these verses too.

    .

    Psalms 126: 5,6

Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy.

He who goes out weaping, carry seed to sow will return with songs of joy, carring sheves with him.

    .

    Psalms 18:6

    In my distress I called on the Lord;

I cried to my God for help.

    From his temple he heard my voice;

my cry came before him, into his ears.

    .

It has been because of God that I can love my neighbor with no bitterness.  And because we have obeyed our Lord we have experienced ...joy.  I have never really had this before and it is such a blessing.

    .

We are still on this journey of "The House that God Built".  I know this is all for God's glory.  I am thankful I get the opportunity to tell others what God is doing in my life.  Thank you for listening.

    .

Here is the second part of my S&T

Here is the pics of Christmas on main street.  It is a event in our small town that a lot of the churches get together and put on... a live manger.  There were hot dogs and hot cocoa served too. [0=

"If mothers could learn to do for themselves what they do for their children when these are overdone, we should have happier households. Let the mother go out to play! If she would have the courage to let everything go when life becomes too tense, and just take a day, or half a day, out in the fields, or with a favourite book, or in a picture gallery looking long and well at just two or three pictures, or in bed, without the children, life would go on far more happily for both children and parents. The mother would then be able to hold herself in "wise passiveness’ and would not fret her children by continual interference even of hand or eye - she would let them be." ...Charlotte Mason

You have learned some powerful lessons, indeed. Have you a new lawyer yet? What is your water situation now? I thank you for your testimony. It's encouraging to read how the Lord will lead and provide.

That was a lovely testimony, Mary. And I remember your postings from your water crisis last year and the hauling of water. You have persevered. The Lord is good. He is able. And you will perhaps not know this side of Glory what effect your humble spirit is having on your neighbor. Perhaps he may be saved yet!

And that's really cool about the live Nativity scene in your town. How fun!

Well, I"m off! I'm sad that I can't go visit all the Show and Tells today, but we've got to get over the Pass before that storm comes in today, if we hope to have some time at our place.

    Have a blessed week!

Oh, Mary...that is a great testimony. I had read some of your posts about your house/neighbour situation, but not realize the extent of it all. Suzy is right, in that you may never know the effect you are having on this neighbour - but you will most likely have the blessing of seeing the effect your trust in the Lord has on your kids!
We generally have a personal testimonies at our church each Sunday night. Mine is set for this weekend - pray for my courage!
