Dec. 18, 2008~ Show and Tell Friday~I Cut My Own Hair ! ~
It's that time again....
I have been racking my brain in what I was going to share this week. I wanted to show some special Christmas ornaments but haven't pulled them out...yet. We are going to decorate on Monday. So.....after this morning I thought up what I was going to share. I have been wanting to try out a way to cut my own hair with long layers and layered bangs. Well, I did it this morning and was VERYhappy with my results.
If people are intrested I will show how I did it on the next Tightwad Tuesday after the holidays.
I am going to be taking next week off with Tightwad Tuesday and Show and Tell Friday. Sooo the next ones are December 30th and January 2nd. But please do still check in on me because I would like to post pics of all the goodies we are going to be making over the next week. Baking and candy making galore !
So...here is my first pic of my new hair do.(the one I like)

"If mothers could learn to do for themselves what they do for their children when these are overdone, we should have happier households. Let the mother go out to play!
If she would have the courage to let everything go when life becomes too tense, and just take a day, or half a day, out in the fields, or with a favourite book, or in
a picture gallery looking long and well at just two or three pictures, or in bed, without the children, life would go on far more happily for both children and parents.
The mother would then be able to hold herself in "wise passiveness’ and would not fret her children by continual interference even of hand or eye - she would let them
be." ...Charlotte Mason
Looks great. Wow you are brave! I use to attempt to cut my own hair in college. And I cut my kids bangs when they were little but thats about all I have courage for! I am up to my eyeballs in making gifts. ( if only I had not prograstinated!)
I love it! You did your bangs perfectly! My favorite cut is the whispy look because it adds texture as well as layers. Great job!!! Happy Holidays to you and yours, dear friend.

Lovin the new hair Mrs.R/Mom!
Ther are so many neat hair style you can do with layers! I really need to get my hair cut again.. I've been cutting it myself for a year lol... but I hope to see you soon!
Wow! You were so brave for cutting your own hair! I don't think I've ever cut that much hair off of me, but I have trimmed my banes when I had them. My hair is pretty much all one length now. I do cut my husband's and children's hair though. It sure saves alot of money! Have a Merry Christmas. :)

It is always fun to see photos of my virtual friends. Your hair looks great!
I used to cut my own hair. I just put it in a pony tail on top of my head and cut it straight across. Then I sectioned off the bangs, twisted them and cut them straight across too. I was in the Army at the time so as long as I could put it up in a french braid for work I figured I was okay. It really didn't look spectacular down, but the price was right and the split ends were controlled.
I would like to see how you did it. Actually, I have cut my own hair for almost 20 years now. All members of our family are do-it-yourself hair cutters - my daughter doesn't have much choice at her age! By far a huge money saver.
Looks great!
It's uplifting to get a new haircut, isn't it?!
I also just noticed that in the post below, the husband in the graphic is tapping his foot waiting for the computer. In this house that would be my sons!
First , I am a daughter of the King almighty and a
a wife to my Handsome of 19 years. A mom of 4 on the go boys 17, 15, 11, and 9. I grew up in the states but married my Canadian sweetheart and moved up north.
We live in the southern part of British Columbia , Canada on our homestead. We have homeschooled our four boys from birth and plan to go the distance till all four graduate from our homeschool. I teach with a Charlotte Mason style. I love to craft! I am a beader, knitter, x-stitcher, quilter. We have been on a journey of being apart of building "The House that God Built". I have been recording our journey on my blog. Go to my links on The House That God Built and you will find it. I know God has a lot more instore for us and we just need to follow where our Lord takes us.
This blog is the home of Show and Tell Friday's and Tightwad Tuesdays. I hope you decide to join in on the fun !
Blessings and ((HUGS))
