Feb. 16, 2009~ Tightwad Tuesday ~ Colour Can Be Fun ~
"There are only a few big ways to save money but there are many small ways ....that all adds up."
Colour Baths
.
Here is a fun way to jazz up your kids bath time for very little money....have a colour bath. I have gone to our local co-op/ healthfood store and they sell these colour bath packets for 3 or 4 dollars. Well a health nurse told me once a neat tightwad tip. It is to use something you probably already have in your baking cupboard. It is ....food colouring. You can just use a primary colour or you can also teach science by mixing colours with the kids. On the box of our food colouring it shows you the ratio of drops you can use to mix your own fancy colours. You need about 6-12 drops in a bath to give a nice colour.
.
Orange
3 drops red
6 drops yellow
.
Pistachio
4 drops yellow
12 drops green
.
Violet
6 drops red
6 drops blue
.
Lime
9 drops yellow
3 drop green
.
Strawberry
10 drops red
6 drops yellow
.
Enjoy watching your kids eyes light up with this science experiment. And watch them get clean while having fun.
.
Leave me a note to let me know you were here and please go visit all these wonderful gals and read their TWT Tips .
Morning! I use to make color bath soaps for the kids when they were young. So much fun. I just added the food coloring in with baby oil. I am not posting a TWT today. Did not finish my project and have a very busy out of the house day today. Be blessed! Hugs.
I am sure my kids would love this. I am surprised it wouldn't stain the tub though...
also wondering if you could do it with bubbles...

You have a great meme, here,. Mary. I know that I only participate in the s&t (which I have always loved) but I keep up with your Tightwad Tuesday often and appreciate it's value (helping us all share ideas of how to save money.)
