May. 13, 2009~ Weightloss Wedesday ~ May 13th ~
.
I have to admit I almost didn't do a WW today. I have been feeling very discouraged with no real weight change. I have been trying to make my servings of food smaller. But I think I need to sit down and find out what a serving really is. I am going to keep track of what I eat and when. I was suggested this and I am now going to take this good advice. It will help me realise how much I am really eating and what I should be eating. Thank you gals for being such a WONDERFUL support. I am loving my workouts with Leslie Sansone ...Walking Away The Pounds . I just need to keep putting one foot infront of the other and soon I will be walking across the floor.
"If mothers could learn to do for themselves what they do for their children when these are overdone, we should have happier households. Let the mother go out to play!
If she would have the courage to let everything go when life becomes too tense, and just take a day, or half a day, out in the fields, or with a favourite book, or in
a picture gallery looking long and well at just two or three pictures, or in bed, without the children, life would go on far more happily for both children and parents.
The mother would then be able to hold herself in "wise passiveness’ and would not fret her children by continual interference even of hand or eye - she would let them
be." ...Charlotte Mason
You are so on the right path! Exercise is so important. For me that was a stumbling block and I am just now getting into a consistant habit and actually liking it.
Measuring the food is easy once you get into the habit. The most important is reading / studying what a serving is. I was shocked at how much I was overeating. Example when we eat a sandwich we are eating 2 servings of bread. Two four inch pancakes is a serving ( I love a stack and usually indulge in this as a treat!) So get out the measuring cups and spoons! the cool thing is my gals are now measuring their food! Reading lables!! Counting good calories/bad calories etc. So I am helping my family too.
One of the things that really helped to jump start me was what Chasity does...She counts servings like 5 fruits and veggies, and 6 grains ect. it was easier for me to wrap my brain around that in the beginning. I saw my imbalance right away. I ate way too much starch and sugar!
Also for me cutting out all white stuff was amazing. No more yeast problems!!!!!!! Had it all my life.
Rambling.....sorry. I am just passionate about the fact that we can do this and you will feel sooooooooooo much better. It is amazing.
I have been eating whole grain and very little refined foods for a long time. I am sure I just eat too much even if I make it low fat. [0= So portions I think going to be the key for me. I want to know how to figure out how many calories something has if you make up or tweek the recipe. I do that A LOT. I think I will have to google it. BUT if you know how or have a link please let me know !
HUGS, Sweet friend!!!!! You are doing awesome, never be discouraged about the weight. To me the weight is the least of the accomplishment, how I feel and to be more healthy is important. I have learned that the scale is all over the place no matter what I do, so I try to ignore the number.
Did you have to have surgery for the hernia? I am not sure what they will do to mine. I go next Thursday and see. I have trying to take it easy, where mine is it is easily strangulated....so I am trying not to lift and strain too much. Hubby and my oldest are helping me around the house alot while I am babying my hernia. While I am not thrilled with the idea of surgery, I'll be glad to have it fix and be able to exercise more.
Hope you have a WONDERFUL day!!
Be blessed,
Chasity
