From the Heart:

There is so much going on that I am having a hard time keeping up with it all. I am not even really leaving the homestead and life is moving full steam ahead. Still working on that rhythum but am starting to get it to fall in place. One thing I want to establish as a habit is putting in a load of laundry in the washer at night and then dry it in the morning. One step at a time.

On the Homefront:

This week will be VERY busy. The guys are coming back to clear the way for our water line. What I thought was all settled isn't so settled so PLEASE pray this week extra hard for our friendly neighbor to sign the papers for our easement. We would love to have these guys be able to work all the the way up to where the water box will go. The last 500 feet is on our friendly neighbors land.

Nature Study:
.
This year we are studing birds and flying creatures indepthly. I was very thankful when there was a woodworking class at our church for the young boys. One of the projects they made were bird feeders. They were exactly the same and that was perfect for our science experiments. ((happy dance)) We have seen fox sparrows and juncos so far. There is one more bird I need to look up before I share the third type. I love watching how they swoop from the lilac bushes to the feeders and the ground. I think we have counted up to 6 at a time. One feeder has a small mixed bird seed and the other has black sunflower seeds. They tend to gravitate more to the small mixed seed bird feeder.

In The Craft Corner:
.
I STILL want to get back to knitting guantlets ( fingerless gloves) and I want to knit some cotton wash clothes. ( I am trying to find that rhythum still and get my work done so I can craft in the evenings. I want to start some simple sewing projects soon. For example I want to sew a clothes pin holder for my clothes line ( when we get it up ) I also want to experiment on sewing some tote bags . I have a table on the side of my dinning room that I want to make into my sewing corner. ( still am decluttering so I can set it up )
.
In the Kitchen:
.
I am having a lot of fun learning substitues for certain ingredients in my cooking. One thing I learned about a year ago is you can used roasted peppers in replace of tomatoes. I am experimenting in using roasted and fresh sweet peppers in my recipes. This is opening up a whole world of possibilites to me ! ((HAPPY DANCE)) I am also learning how to replace sour cream and lemon juice and tons more. I am going to include this ALL in my ebook cookbook. I am getting more and more excited about this ebook ! God has taught me so much about converting foods to meet our dietary needs and I am so blessed. It has been such a amazing journey God has allowed me to go through and I am still learnin TONS.
I am learning how to make my own cottage cheese and ricotta cheese. I also hope to try a hand at sprouts soon.

Mother Culture:( for definition go HERE )
.
A very dear and close friend to our family has sent me a wonderful Mother's Day gift. She lent me for THREE WEEKS this stack of goodies !!!
.

I am still reading "Created to Be His Help Meet" by Debi Pearl. I am momentarily putting on hold re-reading " A Charlotte Mason Compainion" by Karen Andreola. So I can read Holy War by John Bunyan that Esther lent me.
There is the reflections and ramblings for this week.
.
"If mothers could learn to do for themselves what they do for their children when these are overdone, we should have happier households. Let the mother go out to play!
If she would have the courage to let everything go when life becomes too tense, and just take a day, or half a day, out in the fields, or with a favourite book, or in
a picture gallery looking long and well at just two or three pictures, or in bed, without the children, life would go on far more happily for both children and parents.
The mother would then be able to hold herself in "wise passiveness’ and would not fret her children by continual interference even of hand or eye - she would let them
be." ...Charlotte Mason
